Wolfenstein: The New Order

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Left Shift +Left Control + WASD move....can't do it.
I can't physically do it. What kind of keyboards do you guys have? there is no way my hand can bend at that angle to push Left Shift + Left Control and then WASD my way out of this plane wreck.

I have had this game since it came out, played it for 25 minutes. 15 minutes stuck in the 'tutorial' stage trying to hold Left Shift + Left Control to slide under a mechanical dog that eats my face. Over and Over again.

I love FPS. I love Wolfenstein. I played the first demo on a 3.5" disk in the 1990s but WTF Bethesda? Why can't I skip this damn tutorial or at least make a second method of getting past this crashed plane/mechanical dog part?

Rebind it then to something that works for you.

I never did understand some of these games binding crouch to control. I rebound it to C where it belongs. It's easy to hold left shift and hit w to sprint and then hit c to slide

Are you hitting shift and control with the pinky? I played guitar, but I've never had any problem getting my pinky to lie flat and hit both keys when I want to and not. Have you tried practicing with it a little bit and seeing if you can find a more comfortable way to use the default controls?
You DON'T have to press left shift and left ctrl at the same time to perform a sprint slide. When you are walking forward, press and release left shift will get you running (you don't have to hold left shift to run), and THEN press and release left ctrl to perform the sprint slide. Easy, right?

I've got a Kinesis Advantage MPC USB/QD for a keyboard. That button combination isn't hard for me at all. Pinky + Thumb + Middle finger

I'm amazed people don't know how to rebind keys.

well actually you push shift once to sprint and then you can easily move one key down to ctrl to slide
no need to hold the shift key down
i was confused by this at first as well

See how everyone is explaining, in detail, how to make it work. You should NOT have to explain simple controls in that much detail to make the controls work. If the game is going to be so frigging wonky, it should at least try to explain, in detail, how to work the basic controls.

Been in FPS since Intellivision, and never had problems till this game.

Just a quick update, Titanfall 2 has a very intuitive FPS slide mechanic. I recommend checking it out.
also, I simply re-bound my key to ctrl = crouch and that seemed to have fix this issue.
I've spent hours playing Wolfenstien since. It's a great game.

I remapped it to C and put "Toggle Dual-wield" onto Left Ctrl. Much better.
