Wolfenstein the new order looks terrible!

Hello, I asked about this on the steam forums and they directed me here, and my problem is that Wolfenstein the new order looks terrible! All the textures seem low res, objects in the distance look very blurry and some I can't even tell what they are, certain things have no shadows at all, and it looks like their is almost no AA at all and I am running everything, every single settings at max I even have shadows at 8000, why is it like this?

I wish I could help I'm running a 3 year old machine with a 4GB GTX 770 EVGA with a beefed up power supply and 8Gigs of Ram - Game looks amazing. Great game too, haven't had this much fun in a while on a shooter. I hope you get things ironed out soon.

I had heard that this can sometimes be caused by vt compress is this option turned on by default?

And does vt compress make a difference?

the game looks great. Yes, the graphics aren't photo realistic, but they still look good. that is the art style of the game. As for in the distance, some things are blurry. Less polygons to render that way, so the game runs smoother and faster. I don't know if anything can be done about it. It certainly doesn't detract from the game unless yours is displaying different than mine is.

vt compress compresses the textures so they take up less video memory, disabling should improve the graphics very slightly, maybe not even noticable. But if your video card doesn't have enough on board memory it could hurt performance. You have a strong computer, I would definately disable the compression and see what happens.

I am playing the game from today and the graphic are nice....really far from impressive, texture are really shallow I assume because of the game needing to be playable on PS4 and Xbox One, however they could have at least put some effort and try to do something nicer for the PC version....

So a good game, I am not complaining because the story is amazing and I got it 50%, however I can easily call it a Console Port (without V-SYNC it looks horrible GTX 760)

Yes I know the screen tearing is quite bad, and I do quite like the art style but I have turned off vt compress and it's just awful I have played the game on Xbox one (borrowed it) and had them side by side in the same scene (the scene on the balcony at the start of eisanwald prison) and the Xbox one version looked miles better, on the PC the AA was non-existent to the point that I couldn't even make out cranes in the distance and even my knife was horribly jaggie things had NO shadows (they had shadows on the one) and the objects in the distance were so blurry that I couldn't even make out a swastika banner on a nearby building which I could easily see on the one, and judging by other PC gameplay that I've scene I don't think it should look like this.

If the xbox 1 version looked miles better you have a hardware conflict. My friend bailed on PC about 5 years ago, and he has it. We both agree it looks better on the PC, but I'm also running a pretty high end machine.

What do you mean by a hardware conflict? I am ram'ing my WD black since it sounds like a meat grinder and the game is installed on it, could this be causing the graphical problems?

If it looks better on the xbox one, something is wrong. I build machines, but I can't diagnose them. There is some component you are using that it doesn't like or some such. Not saying you have a bad rig or that it not working implies you have a bad rig, all I am saying is I run it without issues max everything, and it looks better than the XB1 version. So, if you are not seeing the same thing, there is a problem somewhere.

by all accounts you can turn on AA in the console, there is a guide explainging how in the guides section

Could be the HDD as I mentioned above, and I think it's important to mention that before I installed a BIOS update which added support for the 4th gen intel cpu's I experienced frequent crashes, in all games.

You might be on to something, when I installed a 780ti, it looked like ♥♥♥♥ until I updated my mobo BiOS.

But I've already installed that BIOS update, maybe it could be the HDD since like I said I will be buying a new one since it sounds like a meat grinder

I think I should also mention that while I was downloading the new order I had some frequent internet crashes, I mean very frequent is it possible that these frequent interruptions of the download have possibly led to corrupted fils?

If it runs you're fine. turn OFF; screen space reflections, haze flare, and VT compress.
set the shadow resolution to the lowest setting. if you still have trouble, lower the VT cash size.
still have problems... somethings wrong with your rig
