Really annoying problem at the beginning of mission after Moon Base

So right in the beginning of the mission where you wake up and fly through the air to epic kill the guy in the room. That first fight is fairly challenging as you have no armor and little ammo. That's fine. What's annoying is that if you die in that fight, it reloads the checkpoint with no assault rifle on the floor, no ammo on the table, no health, and no armor/ammo box in front of you. In other words, you get to start from there with what you woke up with on the plane, which is not nearly enough to kill the swarm of guys including the heavy. I'm not sure why the checkpoint load here wipes all the stuff on the floor and table but it's been annoying the heck out of me primarily because of how long the load times already are. So if I die here, now I am forced to reload that checkpoint (can't load anything else), THEN restart the chapter after the checkpoint loads and watch that entire movie sequence again, and THEN get a shot at that level. It's enough to make me not even want to keep going at this point.

I feel your pain. Go into option and play the game on an easier level. After getting through the tight spot put the game back to your normal chosen level. I had to do this to get some guns after waking up in the hospital 14 years later chapter. Simple easy work around and it keeps the game going. And yes I also uninstalled the game until I thought about doing this little cheat.

I guess I might have to. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that as I know I can beat that part with a couple of tries. I just don't get why they had to cut the checkpoint there instead of maybe before you crash into the window so that the goodies don't disappear.
