Wolfenstein: The New Order

guns are not balanced
so im playing on uber for the 1st playthrough. currently stuck at the helicopter level. why does my pistol 1-2 shot guys while my assault rifle can take as many as 3-8 shots? why does a laser beam gun do nothing to robots? i can kill a robot with a pistol 5x faster then the laser gun. (the big one). the shot gun seems to be balanced alright. (if your not taking into account that its basically an automatic.) im all for big guns and semi auto shotguns etc. but why do the pistol and assault feel reversed?

Just curious:

Are the 1-2 pistol rounds hitting the head, while rifle is possibly missing and/or hitting some center-mass (due to spread)? I have noticed this and therefore use the Handgun 1960 quite often.

Where are you shooting the robots? I assume Guard Robot (Wachroboter) or is it the Heavy Robot (Schwerer Roboter)? Are you shooting with the various weapons at the same location on the back? I have been stunning them with a grenade first to make sure all my shots hit the same vital location (at virtually point-blank).

Is there possibly some variance with weapon performance between difficulty modes? I'm playing on the default mode (don't have Ubber unlocked yet) and kill Wachroboters extremely fast. I have used: Assault Rifle (dual), Laserkraftwerk, and various un-mounted turrets.

Silenced Handguns seem overly deadly at extreme ranges. Possibly the devs wanted the basic weapon to be reliable enough if the player had nothing else available? It reminds me of the Halo 1 pistol, which was amazing. What causes this, is extreme accuracy at obscene ranges (for such a short barrel and no stock, not to mention maintaining velocity and penetration forever, probably the same damage per round between weapons, and no gravitational drop).

On the prison map, there are these super heavily armored Nazis that can blast holes in some concrete; I tried many weapons and found the small Laser Cutter could headshot them for kills, faster than my Automatic Shotguns x2 and Assault Rifles x2.

The Laser Cutter and the Laserkraftwerk both require 2 hits to destroy a security camera/turret. This seems odd to me, due to the power difference.

I forgot to ask:
Are you sniping with the Handgun 1960 (silenced) or are you using non-silenced burst mode?

After more testing, I agree about the Handgun being overly effective. Why? I would use them almost exclusively, except ammuntion would be a problem. There are instances where something else is more appropraite, but the Handgun usually wins due to range, accuracy, silencer, and damage.

i had uber as an option from the beginning. its my 1st playthrough. i used it silenced. if the enemys are unaware i can shoot them in the leg and kill them. even if they are aware that im there i can still kill them in 2 shots not hitting the head. it was the 2+1 robots in the helicoptor hanger. no trouble with them at all i never shoot them in the back. no need from my experience. the pain for me was killing the 20 guys they tossed at me inbetween. i beat it already. i just dont get the damage differece. makes no sence.

Thnx for clarification, especially regarding target zone.

After more experimenting, I concur.
