But, as with any game, it comes down to personal preference. I even play the odd first person game with a controller sometimes. Just try them both and see which you prefer.

Yeah, I can't think of many situations where you actually should play/see the prequel before the original. Generally speaking, unless you have a reason not to, you should go through things in order of release.
Maybe, I do like my chronological order. That said, New Order is the better game of the 2.
