Still, the very first time I played, I went with Wyatt. I just couldn't kill the kid. He's got many years of learning ahead of him. Fergus, on the other hand, is getting old and well past his prime. Realistically, it would just be a matter of time before he lost his abilities, or hurt himself to the point where he'd be useless.
Going with Fergus you will get health upgrades up to 200 and people say that will be more useful than armour in the final missions.
Having 200 max health is always useful, because there's tons of health pick-ups throughout the game. But of course, replaying to get both skills is always nice q:
Yup, this was my reasoning for saving Wyatt as well. Fergus even says something similar when you do.
You can always play through the Fergus timeline afterwards if you want the health upgrades.
I never play my first playthrough of a game on the highest difficulty anyways, so I don't really care much about perfect min-maxing on said playthough.
