Question about Uber difficulty

I want to do a playthrough of the game on Uber and I have unlocked all the perks and weapon/armor/health upgrades. If I start the game through chapter select, will I still get the achievement, or do I need to sacrifice everything by starting a new game?

There is a glitch that lets you only do the last level on Uber for the achievement. I don't recall how to do it because its been a really long time since i touched this game.

Or, you could just play on 999 mode. Unlimited ammo, and 999 health every time you load a checkpoint q:

Plus, I think they patched that glitch out some time ago...

Just did it. It's not a glitch, probably just a loophole they overlooked. All you have to do is the last level on Uber and you get the achievement.

Is there a secret achievement for actually completing the difficulty levels from start to finish?

Otherwise I not sure what the achievement means or achieves, other than for the developers to know that someone selected various settings and it was found to be useful or people went out of their way to do it (or for campaign based achievements you cannot avoid receiving, those tell the developers that someome bothered to play the game up to those poinrts).
