So Timeline woule be Wolfenstein, then RTCW, followed by Old Blood and then New Order. The 2009 is the unrelated one, that while interesting on its own, doesn't fit into the timeline with the rest in anyway I see.
As for monsters and the occult, that is covered more in Old Blood.
The first game -- the one you call "Wolfenstein" -- which game is that? Wasn't the official title of the 2009 release "Wolfenstein"? That's definitely not part of the RtCW, Old Blood, New Order timeline.
MachineGames Wolfenstein series is more of a reboot and was never considered a direct sequel to prievious games. If you want to know the current storyline you only need to play Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Knowing RTCW and Raven Software Wolfenstein (or just Wolfenstein 2009) may be benefitial, because some events that happened in those games, happened in some way or another like the case with one of the characters that appeared in TNO but was introduced in Wolfenstein 2009. There is a lot of continuity issues if you try to link a new series with a past entries.
For example, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a reimagined first half of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Both of those games started in Castle Wolfenstein and had a very similiar entry point and a lot of levels were essentialy the same. The story of TOB was not only set few years after RTCW, but a lot of stuff happened in a completely different way. There was a lot of characters that shared a similiar name (like Wesley aka Agent One or Helga Van Bulow / Helga von Schabbs), but they had completetly different personalities. BJ also tends to not remember that he was supposed to be in a same castle multiple times.
I think the best way is to seperate all of prievious games into a seperate timelines, until proven otherwise by the developers.
1. Castle Wolfenstein
2. Beyond Castle Wolfenstein
3. Wolfenstein 3D
4. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
5. Wolfenstein
6. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
7. Wolfenstein: The New Order
8: Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.
That's the main games timeline. But the New series has been softly rebooted.
