The New Order VS The Old Blood: Which to buy?

I am new to the Woldfenstein Genre, and I was wondering which game would be better for starting off. Common sense says that I should get the first one, but I've been told that I should skip it and go on to the second. Thoughts?

I've played both and it doesn't really matter which you played first. I'd say play this one first since it introduces you to BJ (your character), but it doesn't really matter.

I would get both imo. They're both great single-player games

i'd play this game first, since it introduces you to B.J., Fergus, and Wyatt

however, the ending to "The Old Blood" does setup the opening events to this game

New Order if you like sci-fi, Old Blood if you like occult magic and zombies. If you like both New Order is better designed IMO and longer, so go with that.

Get old blood first but at this price get them both you will like them.

Both are great but really short just like doom which I hate

The New Order is overall better and longer. The Old Blood is shorter and a prequel to the New Order. They are both great games. I bought them on sale they are a great deal for the content and gameplay they offer. The New Order was my first 100% achievement game on steam.

Cannot go wrong with both. I do, however, like the idea of escaping Castle Wolfenstein in the Old Blood.
