coins & Rift point's, whats the difference?
Ive been scouring the net for n hour now, all the "guides" just list enemies, traps, weapons, trinks, and the maps, none of them actually explain in detail what coins are for, i think i understand that rift points are the currency you use for building traps, but what are coins for?

Coins are the currency, rift points are how many enemies you can "let pass" to your base before you lose.

And skulls you spend after a playthrough, buying new traps to use the next time you play

coins are for in game (the current map). skulls are for every map.

you buy traps with coins
okay i get it now, coins are for the purchasing of traps during each map, okay. Now as for rift points, are they like the lives or health points of the rift, letsay the rift starts at 20, if 20 mobs get through, you lose the match, but if letsay 5 get through and your down to 15, you've already lost 1/5 skulls youd get for winning right? what if you have a trinket or trap that gives rift points and you earn your full 20 back, do you still get the original ammount of skulls you would have gotten if you didnt lose rift points? Also can you pick-up rift points and go over the limit on the rift, ie limit is 20, you pick up 1 rift point, will it hit 21?

Unfortunately not. The rift trinket increases your total rift points so you can afford to lose more before failing completely but even with the trinket a single enemy through the rift will mean you won't be getting 5-skulls.
aight

i usually restart the map anytime a mob passes through anyway, im a bit of a perfectionist

Good to know.

Don't restart the map immediately: play it to the end, and retry it afterwards.
First, it will allow you to get a feel for what's coming after.
And second, any skull you'd have earned (for completing the map: you get one skull for "victory" every time) or picked up is lost if you don't complete the run.
Also, beating the map unlocks a new toy... which might be handy when retrying for a perfect victory.

thats something else ive been meaning to ask, do you need to collect all 5 skulls off of each map to earn the new trap/weapon/trinket ect? or could you lose a few skulls and still unlock that new trap? cause im upto map 7 and still havnt unlocked the archer guardian

You get them for beating level 9, Passages. In the spell book you can scroll down to the Archers and they'll have a shield icon under the picture, hover over the shield and it'll tell you which map gives you the guardian/trap.
