Boom Barrel Dispenser Upgrade

Hi all,
Just wanted to know if upgraded Boom Barrels need to be equipped for the Boom Barrel Dispenser to benefit from its special ability ? or keeping them upgraded in our spellbook will work too ?

You don't need them in your loadout, upgraded in the spellbook is all you need :)

remember if u put the boom barrel dispper up like 3 boom barrel disspcer high it will add explode on contact with floor or enemy. if u didnt know but if u did then dont mind this , and imo the boom barrel effect for it is way better then the other one and more so if u go boom barrel itself set to bigger blast raduis . have trap reset when u use it .
