Train doors not opening/feel lost at the game's beginning

Just bought this game today and I'm already a little stuck. I retrieved the message from the safe in my room and am about to head to the North of the District... if I can figure out how to get there.

I'm in a train station with trains that say they're open but don't open for me when I approach and can't seem to be used.

Where am I supposed to go next, and is the train supposed to be inaccessible rn?

So for this objective you do need to go North, to the edge of the District. Starting from the Mass Abode building where you exit from, turn right and go straight ahead into an open field with destroyed buildings.

If you leave the UnderTram station you can go past the tree at the entrance and go left, there will be a passageway next to some stairs and another tree.
From there you will see the open field with an entrance around the middle of the area.

Those train doors can be used optionally later on in the game, saying they're "open" right now was a oversight on my part, sorry!
