Couch / Split-Screen / Local Multiplayer?

Is there local/couch multiplayer, by chance? I read through a few of the discussions but couldn't find the answer to this in particular. I understand there's online multiplayer, but in DiRT 3 (the only other DiRT game I've played thus far) it allows 2 racers to play on the same computer (using external controlllers).

Does DiRT Showdown allow this as well? I assume this would be useful to others debating on purchasing the game as well.

A splitscreen mode is avaible, but I think the real problem is which controller or keyboard you can use to play splitscreen, because I tried it and the game doesn't see my controller as a 2 player.
