AI Cars During Multiplayer?

I feel like this MUST be an option, especially for the demolition derby part...but if my friend and I are playing online co-op, and we do the derby (or anything in this game), we can no longer fill the stage/track up with any AI cars. A demolition derby with two people is lame...but we can't add AI, and don't want to necessarily try and find others to join.


So, is "adding AI cars" not possible in this game? If so, especially for a demolition derby section, it's unbelievable that the developers intentionally removes them.

No, this is not possible in DiRT Showdown.

How is the multiplayer as now, I KNOW that it was pretty badly broken in DIRT3, and so I returned it (1hr waiting in lobbies with NOT ONE blip). If I can join and play most times of the day with @ least a few other people, and it's easy to do through the in game menues, and or steam friends, then that would be a good title for me. Thanks for any and all info.

Multiplayer using split screen mode is easiest. It is limited to two players, both players use the same screen but different input devices. Just like a console. Computer players can be added anywhere from 0 to 6. Only a few game modes are supported (about 6).

Multiplayer where you invite friends via Steam is easy to set up and works fairly well. Only two gripes: 1. No computer players to fill in the gaps. 2. No way to shorten the timeouts between races. All game modes are supported.

Online multiplayer... Cannot get it to work at all. Sit in the lobby, no one ever joins. I cannot find a way to actually join an in progress game.

Actually I just tried the demo, and it would not run, will try a few extra settings. Dirt 3 Ran perfect. I just knew the multiplayer is rather broken.
