DiRT just won't start...

My PC meets the min. requirements... The "Preparing to launch" box appears and in the library it says "Running" after a few seconds it is just "Syncing" and nothing happens... It's the third time Steam does this... For example i bought Life is Strange and the same thing happens... What should i do?

I have the same problem. Verifying game files doesn't help, cause all files get correctly verified.
I am using Win 8.1.

Me too... I tried to re-install DirectX and Visual C++ but it's not working..

Compatibility Mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3: D and then runs

I set it to that compatibility mode, then started the game and the 0xc000007b box came up :D

It can't find OpenAL32.DLL so you must copy it from another game, into the DiRT Showdown folder.
