had huge expectation for this, since I didnt expect anyone would pick this title up for years.
turns out, it's worse than I thought.
you CAN NOT buy permanent songs.
and to access all song you have to pay MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION.

the game itself is basically port of now-deleted O2Jam mobile.
it's also not an online game, as the only online feature is leaderboard.
if you love O2jam, you better off play private server of it.

If you're here for the nostalgia, abandon all hope. Go back to O2Mania.

Also, you'll be billed every day instead of every month.

North Koreans would use this game as a torture device.

Whether you are a Malaysian Boomer or drinking that Sour OSU Milik, there isn't any reason to play this

First, lets get the obvious comparisons out of the way. This is not the original O2JAM which contained online lobbies for up to 8 players to play simultaneously. It is single player only. However, that is where the first problem comes in. The game is called O2Jam ONLINE. There are very little to no online components to this game with the exception of a leader board and subscription service. Although that is only where the problems begin...

The interface is very uninspired. Everything looks like it was ripped from some generic game maker template. I would have been more willing to let this slide had not this interfered with the gameplay. Instead of the classic flat view, the game is presented in Hallway (Guitar Hero, Sound Voltex, Chunithm). Okay, fair enough. However, for the classic 7Key mode, they didn't skin the middle/space bar button to yellow like it originally was which makes reading the notes very confusing. Instead there are only two colors. To give you an idea of how frustrating this is, imagine if the scratch record in IIDX was white. It would drive you insane.

Speaking of modes, there are now four different modes of play now. You'd think this would be a positive, but playing them on the default setting feels awkward. For example, 3 Key is D J K by default, instead of D F/J K or D SPACE K. 4 Key mode is S D J K which is functional enough. 5 key is S D J K L, instead of S D SPACE K L like it was for DJ Max. 7Key is S D F SPACE J K L like it was in the original game, but again, the space bar doesn't have a unique color. For what it is worth, they do let you customize the keys to something more natural. However, the fact you have to do this shows how they didn't really play test or think out bringing these modes to the PC.

More on the gameplay, and this is almost comical, the judgement system has been poorly implement. You can only get Perfect, Good and Miss. While playing, I questioned whether this was intentional or not. The original only had COOL, Good, Bad Miss. Yet, when I reach the score results screen, they show counts for Great and Bad which will always be at zero no matter how you play.

Now, when I heard about how bad this game was, most of the negativity revolved around the fact it has a subscription service. I thought to myself, "If it comes with just two or three songs to try, why not give it a go?". JukeBeat only had 3 songs and took up an hour or two of my time. Surprisingly there are about 10-15 songs per mode. Some of which are exclusive ala Vivaldi in Hip Hop is only playable in 4Key. Most of these are classic songs... from nearly 20 years ago. I don't think there was anything new added other than a remix of Feel the O2Jam. Maybe you gotta pay for them, but I am not going to find out.

Last thing is Game Guard Anti Cheat. Never heard of it until now, but it's said to be extremely intrusive and records every keystroke in and out of the game while installed, in addition to collecting data from other applications. Not sure how true that is, but I wouldn't put it past them.

And maybe this is tied to Game Guard, but despite the generic 2002 video game interface, I actually had some jarring performance problems. The game itself ran fine, but the audio would randomly jitter and slow down. Which probably validates the whole recording keystroke thing.

I guess if there is any positives, the drawing of the girl with the guitar is cute. You can also get custom Great Value backgrounds which give cheap animations when playing well. My favorite is the one where you see Santa flying across the moon if you get a full combo.

The rhythm game scene has become so competitive and there are so many better alternatives out there. Not to mention that you can just download O2Mania for free. I don't know what these guys were thinking outside of just trying to profit off the name. It's a shame, because the original O2Jam deserves more than this. Going off the other games by this developer, it's clear this was just a rushed release with the only intention to make a quick buck. Soulless.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

I almost never leave reviews for games, but I love rhythm games so much so I feel obligated to! I play DJMax and EZ2ON quite a bit and this game, in comparison, is horrible.
I'll leave a pros and cons list below:

Pros:
-3, 4, 5 and 7 Key modes

-When the game doesn't stutter, the buttons are quite responsive during play.

Cons:
-There's a subscription service for the game.

-You can't outright buy any songs, you can only keep them for 7 or 30 day periods.

-Not all modes have all charts. For instance, if you buy a song and go to 7 Key, you might find that there's no chart for it and you can only play it on 3 or 5 Key.

-The game stutters and lags even in the menu where you choose songs.

-The UI is horrible while playing, it looks like it was made for a large tablet. I actually got nauseous while playing because the whole screen is filled with giant buttons coming at the bottom on a weird angle.

I want to reiterate: I don't ever leave reviews really, even for the games I love. Why? Because good games often speak for themselves in my opinion. However, I rarely leave reviews for bad games because they're usually hated on for no good reason. The only reason I've decided to leave a bad review for this game is because I want to see improvements. I'd love to see another rhythm game become successful. I wish the O2 team nothing but the best, but as of right now this game is a hard pass.

Okay.

- doesn't friggin work (notes don't even appear)
- has nothing to do with the classic O2Jam
- is just a Port of the Mobile Game "Music & Beat"
- massive Paywall and overpriced Subscription
- crashes every 5 Minutes

PROS
- my Anti-Virus really seems to enjoy this Game
- it is good to uninstall

Edit : to Fix the not appearing Notes you need to change your System Locale to either english, japanese, korean or chinese. Not worth the Time tho as you find a cheaply made Rhythm Game lacking any polish. It's sad to see this Series die like that.

I usually don't give bad feedback, but not this.

First, O2jam is my memories of youth, i think is around 20 years ago. It's the best and 1st rhythm game (for me) that play on PC, and play at Cyber Cafe after school. That time everybody are playing those epic song like V3, Identity Part, Death Moon etc, that moment was awesome...

Ok too far.... back to review....
1. How can you release a rhythm game which worse then 20 years ago !? no keypress sound effect, no illustration (animation), key color for 7 key is so confuse, last time was used gold color to differentiate middle (space) key....
2. Delay of music? OMG, this is totally the most broken issue that can found in a rhythm game, with no complex animation display, single player game (im playing alone)
3. Subscription basis????

You better make an revamp for this game, dont just copy from Mobile to PC, you are spoiling an epic rhythm game !!!

great game to uninstall

Pork Sinigang Recipe:

Ingredients
2 lbs pork belly or buto-buto
1 bunch spinach or kang-kong
3 tablespoons fish sauce
12 pieces string beans sitaw, cut in 2 inch length
2 pieces tomato quartered
3 pieces chili or banana pepper
1 tablespoons cooking oil
2 quarts water
1 piece onion sliced
2 pieces taro gabi, quartered
1 pack sinigang mix good for 2 liters water

Instructions
Heat the pot and put-in the cooking oil
Sauté the onion until its layers separate from each other
Add the pork belly and cook until outer part turns light brown
Put-in the fish sauce and mix with the ingredients
Pour the water and bring to a boil
Add the taro and tomatoes then simmer for 40 minutes or until pork is tender
Put-in the sinigang mix and chili
Add the string beans (and other vegetables if there are any) and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes
Put-in the spinach, turn off the heat, and cover the pot. Let the spinach cook using the remaining heat in the pot.
Serve hot. Share and enjoy!
