Jackalope OP?
My fav weapon is the striker and my fav striker is the Jackalope. But I worry it might be OP.

I tried several different builds with fully leveled up strikers (Hurler, Boomball, Ballmarang) and could not beat super frenzy 4 after many many attempts at blisterbane bog. A single try with the jackalope and I absolutely crushed it. (I did eventually beat SF5 with the other strikers but they are a LOT harder to work with than the Jackalope)

I think that compared to the jackalope the other strikers feel so slow. So is the Jackalope OP or are other strikers UP?

If the jackalope is OP I think it needs to be nerfed in a way that won't ruin how fun it is to play with. The immediate return and bounce effect is awesome. Maybe you could limit how many times it can rebound? Maybe out of the gate it only rebounds 2 or 3 times and as you level it up you get a few more rebounds? The infinite rebound is what makes it a tool of destruction. Throw it into a pack of enemies or objects and it goes on endlessly tearing everything apart.

You could prevent it from rebounding on map edges I suppose but that would definitely reduce its fun. I think a rebound limit would be a better nerf.

If other strikers are UP, then I think maybe they could benefit from a change in how they arc. Maybe they still arc high, but some of them return more quickly than others? For example weaker ones could return more quickly. The Boomball could return more slowly but it lands harder and does more damage.

TBH, going back to regular strikers after using the jackalope feels like you're running in molasses... Slooow. And the worst is when you keep calling your strikers but enemies are faster, so basically you just run around dodging hoping strikers land on their heads. I feel like some adjustments to the speed of strikers arcs could help. I would rather have a striker that arcs faster and is weaker than one that arcs slower and is more powerful, but both could have a place.

Anyways, as much as it saddens me to say the jackalope probably needs a nerf. Here's hoping for continued balancing! 😄

There are currently crazy builds that can do 10k damage per hit, and some of them can do it from a ranged distance.

I think relative to the current top tier builds, the jackalope will be just fine lmao.
I have similar feelings about the Long Arm of the Claw (LAotC). The extra reach it has is crazy good, add on that it does bonus Focus Hit damage... It's just soooooo good. Makes me wish all spears had its reach. But if that happened, I would probably almost never use LAotC. The Focus hit damage is nice, don't get me wrong, but the skill is *GARBAGE*. It *might* be good if I was Power Class, but I can't stand that slow fatty roll. Even medium roll feels faster (and safer) to reposition than LAotC's skill.

If LAotC's skill had an invulnerability window from liftoff to touch down, then maybe it would be usable. But then it would also be rather over powered. That would be a LONG window of iframes.
yup jackalope is the best weapon in the game imo, i wonder what skill they are going to give it. i suggested rock throw to the devs, giving it the ability to attack full screen to keep combos high... tho the enigmox weapons are way more useful. makes it pretty easy to have zero damage runs.... tho sometimes you will be parrying for a while till ya get an opening to attack. it feels like the parries stack sometimes giving more than 2 seconds of critz
