Weapon balance is not great?
I feel like spear is the only viable option to play, it has a lot of damage and mobility, able to easily create huge hit streaks.
Distance weapons feel like they have added drawback without a benefit. With cannon you can be cornered without bullets or be hit by multiple attacks and run out of dodge. Damage is not great (when compared to same power number on spear), combos like artillery shot are so slow you can't use them without being hit by something.
Not sure about balls, but playing with them that weapon was frustrating a lot.
Hammer feels slow and heavy, but damage output does not match it (my feeling, i might be wrong on the numbers)
I fully understand that i may be just bad at this. Maybe some tips on how to use weapons efficiently?

It also doesnt help that alot of things in this game dont get hitstuned. You be using a heavy hammer attack and still get hit by a dude

The ball is unsatisfying. The range is short and the animation when trying attack or throw feels long making maneuvering quickly annoying. The moveset is also limited to throw and punch-throw. There's also the dodge tackle but you're jumping into the enemy at that point.

I agree about weapon balance is not great. But your first sentence is clearly wrong if you think spear is the only viable option to play.

agreed, feels like the spear and hammer are the only viable one's.
What is that crappy bazooka?
What is the double balls ♥♥♥♥? Friend can shoot your balls away, enemies too, to you can't have them back you will be "hmphhh hmphh" to get them back...holy sheet.

OMG, git gud, guys. Cannon just op, balls very fun & usefull. If u can't play with any weapon - it's not mean, that weapon bad, or poor balanced. *facepalm*

There is definitely a level of git gud, but some balance tweaks really do need to happen.

All the weapons feel great to me and I especially love the striker game play, but the powers can be nonsensical when you get to higher frenzy levels, specifically for solo play.

I've had a few F3 striker runs where the only powers I'll see are 10 hit-streak activated, which isn't a thing that's going to happen with any regularity playing F2/3 solo striker or zook. Those are much more balanced for spear and make up a massive chunk of potential rolls.

All the weapons are good AND the weapons need balancing tweaks aren't necessarily contradictory statements. Due to the unique nature of the weaponry, I think trying to shoehorn all the powers to be universal really creates some gaps and overall clunky experiences.

All the weapons are def usable and work in situations.

I've had a friend show me that the cannon absolutely destroys the owl boss fight

Strikers absolutely demolish the illlusion fox thing (forgot the name) as well as the gordo twin things (the ones that jump on their butts like patrick in the spongebob movie)

Biggest issue with the hammer is it doesn't actually feel like a hammer. Typically you expect hammers to be slow but heavy hitting with large stun but the game doesn't have very much hitstun so that means nothing

Spear is just insanely good cause it doesn't have too many issues with the flaws of the game

I feel like people should concern themselves with weapon balance after they have done all frenzy levels with every weapon because to me they are all very much functional and fairly equal

I agree with needing some kind of buff to bring hammer up to speed with all the other weapons. If additional hit stun isn't going to be added to hammer, then its damage needs to be buffed A LOT; or damage to hammer players needs to reduced significantly to justify essentially trading hits with an enemy/enemies that are going to hit you. In the current iteration of weapons, it really doesn't make sense to choose hammer when all the other weapons are so much safer/more effective to use than hammer.

or they can just increase the hit stun on the hammer's attacks on enemies so you dont get hit mid animation

The only balancing issues ive really noticed are that the shift abilities on almost all weapons are pointless/detrimental.

crossheck on spear is very useful as it knocks down most enemies and is especially useful if you need to get one enemy out of the picture for a moment or just focus them down stress free

Gamers complaining about balance after 7 hours of gameplay is one of my favorite tropes.
