Castle crashers + Dont starve.
Quite literally nothing like cult of the lamb, that game's art style is super lazy with how all the faces looked doesnt even come close ..
Now about the "falsehoods", wow... When I saw the trailer of the game my first thought was "omg a game with Castle Crasher vibe made by Klei", and after I played, it pass some Cult of the Lamb vibes too (the combat part of course, not the Cult management).
I don't like the reviews that say "this game is like GameName + AnotherGameName = Game", but can't deny that sometimes this reviews help, showing that if I liked one of the games the guy said on the review, there's a chance that I like this one too.
About Rotwood, I really enjoyed the game, as I said I really like Castle Crasher, and for years I was looking for a game in this style with more "nowdays mechanics", more "lively" combat, and Rotwood seems to put an end to my search, and not because it look like Castle Crasher, but like you said, they mix a lot of ideas that we already know with some new from Klei.
