Getting gear

I've got to level 61 so far. Been using up most the timer on each level killing stuff before going to the bosses but I'm still getting level 5/6 gear drops. I've got one 18 helm but that's it.

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Should I be rushing through the stages to a certain point then start farming the mobs on the countdown clock?

I was lvl 50 or something and didnt even have a belt and mostly only saw lvl 2 to lvl 5 items never have I seen more. I died to first main boss since i didnt know I could fall off the map. If I do another run and make it further and happen to see better or different stuff I will let you know.

I passed the first main boss and it's still the same thing with gear drops.

Gear goes up in ilvl the higher you go, there's also a dungeon that drops ilvl higher then your current best rift.

It starts to speed up once you clear more mobs. Depends a bit on how good you are and how good your gear and build is ofc.

At 85ish right now and i get at least 7-8 gear/weapons per run.

Do your daily challenges and talk to Void at the back of your hideout. You will get dungeon keys you can use. I just used mine for the first time and it put me up from like combat score 300 to 1300 in one run.

What do you mean clear more mobs, i am clearing mobs faster than they can spawn, even elites die instantly with the wand. I am getting to all the spawning pools and melting everything, I think the drop rates for belts are screwed up too since I cant seem to find one ever. I farm the rifts up until 45 seconds and go melt the boss in under 20 and get as many drop and items as possible, still no belt.

I think belts drop exclusively in some of the dungeons you need keys to enter, found some in a chest behind a wall that broke in the catacombs i think, and i got some after beating boss in the enclave.

Ok I guess I just have not gotten far enough sicen I have no idea what the catacombs are or dungeons. I just been doing the rupture things and thought that was all there was.

There's also a unique shield that can increase your damage dramatically based on your potion capacity. The higher your capacity the higher your overall damage. It's insane once you get lucky enough to find one. I was lucky enough to find one and it doubled my damage and boosted my combat rating significantly.
