Basic attacks are just for starting a character and the first 50 levels or so.
Once you got some decent energy regeneration and hopefully a helm effect with -50% energy cost, you begin spamming your favourite primary or secondary ability.
This games all about getting the 15-30 energy per sec cost down to replace basic attacks with 200-350% base damage per second.
I just thought you should know, no point leaving you in the dark here, don't worry about the top 20 builds doing the same damn thing either, it's just always the case of one player with no job or girlfriend playing this game only his entire life, so all that time spent on one build and others follow suit, ALL weapon & offhand combinations are viable, so pick whatever you like.
Just basic attacks are not the staple for going further and that's why the developer doesnt bother patching something nobody really cares about.
ok thanks for the info, definitely helps explain a lot. Ill work towards the energy thing for sure.
I have yet to see the dev even acknowledge that it's an issue.
instead we get gaslight responses, like "q and r have their own auto", "you're getting stunned", and now: "you're not going to use it in end-game anyway"
