Resolution Issues need fix (SOLVED)

I have extreme resolution issues with this game, no matter which I choose it only changes the size of the fonts, not the borders of the game window. What this means for me is that I can't read or access any of the necessary menus in order for me to play the game.

I have checked the internet fairly thoroughly and I can't seem to find a way to even turn it windowed mode through steam. If anyone has a fix for me I would really appreciate it.

Here's something you could try (If using windows)

You'll need a textfile editor (notepad works, notepad++ is better)
Open: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Kalypso Media\Airline Tycoon 2\Settings\config.ini
(Where <username> is the windows useraccount the game is installed under)

You'll find the entry:

fullscreen=1

Change it to:

fullscreen=0

That should give you the windowed mode.

As for the fonts, they appear to all be set to a size of 15 in the relevant .ini files within the steam folder. I would hazard a guess that there might be a scaling problem when you attempt to change the resolution initially, at which point it tries to redraw the font in the different scale but your screen resolution doesn't alter at the same time.

Try changing the resolution in the windowed mode (using the ini change above) and then you can always try putting it back in fullscreen to see if it worked or not.

I've tried the method explained above, but without succes. Is there any other way to change the font size? Is it possible this has anything to do with my own screen resolution (max resolution is 2560x1440)?

I was having the same problem and there did not appear to be an answer in any of the threads so I will include one for anyone having the problem in the future.

Font scaling is taken from the desktop setting, not the game. If you are using a 4k screen right click your desktop and click display. You will see under scale and layout that the text size is set to 150% (Recommended). It is this setting that is causing your problem.

You have two options. Set it to 100% or for windowed mode, since the game takes settings from the primary screen, attach a second screen to your computer that is not 4k and make it your main display in the display settings. Then the text will be the correct size even if your 4k screen is still set to 150%.
