If you loved Toki Tori, don't bother with Toki Tori 2...
There are no intriguing puzzles like in TT. There are only 2 actions, no more inventory slots.
The "puzzles" are based around annoying platforming.
There is no rewind feature anymore. If you get stuck, you have to replay the entire level.
You can't rebind keys or adjust volume or mute the music/sound.

I would say this was a waste of money, but TT1 alone is worth the price of 1+2.

How long have you played TT2?

No intriguing puzzles, well not in the beginning no.
No rewind feature, yes there is. But it works with checkpoints this time. If you haven't sencountered that yet you probably indeed haven't played much.
No rebinding keys and adjusting volume is true, too bad if that hurst your experience a lot. :/

Anyway, it looks to me like you haven't even given the game a chance because it is so different. Which is a shame, I enjoy both TT1 and TT2.

I have been playing for 2 hours. Am I supposed to keep whistling and stomping throughout the entire game? Having to spam the whistling is especially annoying. I am really disappointed with this game.

After 10 hours of playing so far I must say that I am more disappointed by the game than happy about buying it, sadly. The first game was plain-looking, but challenging enough to keep you entertained from the beginning to the very end. It was a well-made, elaborated puzzle game and I really enjoyed that!
TT2+ delivers nothing but weird game design, bothersome puzzles, focused on abusing local animals and two abilities - jumping and twittering. I admit, twitter mechanic is done pretty good, but that's all about it. I totally have no clue why everyone's so crazy about that game!

I've only played TT2+ for about half an hour, but so far I would agree. I did love the first Toki Tori, but I'm finding it a real struggle to continue playing this game.

I haven't encountered one design change that I like so far. I don't even like the twitter mechanic, if by that you are referring to tweeting to execute commands like rewind. It seemed cute a first when I first quickly figured it out, then it just got annoying. To rewind a Toki Tori level, I just press a single key. In Toki Tori 2+, I press a button (or key) four times, with the button held done a varying amount of time, to do the same thing. Since I will probably want to rewind fairly often, this gets old fast. This is admittedly a very minor complaint, but it seems typical of my experience with the game. Change for change sake, not for gameplay.

If this was my first Toki Tori game, or I was playing a demo, I would give up at this point, I have too many good games in my queue to play. Based on my very positive experience with the first Toki Tori, and the fact that half an hour is too short a time to judge a game, I will continue.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
seems the Tutu (little guiding bird) didn't catch your attention. And if you like to "reset"the level, you only need to press one key. This setting maybe will force you to think twice before taking a further action.Any fault will force you to rewind, but if you do it right you don't need it.
at the beginning it will teach you everything you need to know, including the rewind whistle. As the game goes it will teach you more whistle.
If you want to learn you have to be in stuck(such as a deep hole or sw. like that)
I've played about 20 hours already and I'm interested in every puzzle.
Able to pre-see the use of any creatures makes me feel happy.Such as you may need to let a bird carry a bubblefrog or a berrryburg to solve the puzzle.

For veteran Toki Tori players who are fond of tough puzzles, I would encourage you to play at least until you have discovered the source of the black smoke, things will get interesting from there.

The learning curve is a little less steep than the original to make it accessible to new players so the first hours may be a bit easy for expert puzzle gamers.

If you don't have the patience to wait for the harder puzzles, try to stray from the path of least resistance earlier. There are plenty of secret areas that can be reached by solving harder puzzles. They are reachable in the earlier locations, the game just hasn't taught you how to get there.

If you guys want more Toki Tori 1, some friends and I made a bunch of custom maps last year (over 60 I think), but hardly anyone knows about them, and Two Tribes didn't do much advertising either. Most of those are pretty hard and may take several hours to solve. If you want to skyrocket your TT1 playtime, I'd still like to hear some thoughts about them... ;)

As for Toki Tori 2... it's just a completely different game: If you expected it to be like TT1 it's hard not to be disappointed. However, if you judge it by what it tries to deliver, I think it's just as good as the original. I was a bit disappointed when I played the betas because we were shown the easiest part of the game, but I've tried to stay away from the easy path in my full-game playthrough and I'm enjoying it a lot!

Yes, you only have 2 stupid abilities, but the way all the creatures can interact with both the world and each other is so deep that you're constantly finding out skills you didn't realise you had! Just give it a chance and don't judge it by its surface...

Sorry that this isn't related to the OP, but...thanks General_Lecter for posting that link! I love the first TT and was disappointed when I realized that there were only 1-3 bonus levels in each world. I'm sure I'll enjoy working through the ones you and your friends made! =)

That's so strange to read so much disappointment when I am enjoying this game so much - and I enjoyed the first one too.
I think you're stuck with an ideal and this is blinding you.

This game is not like TT1 but its also great just not the same. There are so many puzzles not only the 2 Actions there are so much animals who acts different. Overall there are more actions than in TT1.

I appreciate your comments and will try to finish the game.

Yes, what a difference with TT1.
In TT1 you could at least move with a mouseclick.
Keys couldn't be assigned.
The puzzles are gone, this feels more like a platform game I'm not interested in.
And why make the end interesting? It's the beginning that should be inviting enough to continue...which isn't the case imo.

a ha
yeap i think as for the custom level,TT2 can be more creativity than TT1. with the individual creatures in game you can made hard levels too.in TT2 the chick did not only have two skills-
not so simple as you thought.
However, i'm now working on the custom map now and wants to make some good ones.
