Bug Report: Building interior resets after re-loading game
There have been a few minor bugs I was planning on compiling (mostly assets that don't work from all directions) but I ran into something today that will genuinely prevent me from continuing play until it's resolved:

After opening my game, I discovered that three of my buildings had been completely reset, with everything inside deleted (and in the case of the lighthouse, the room shape had changed?). I spend a lot of time fully furnishing houses for all of my gourdlets, so randomly losing ~2+ hours of work is a big blow.

I know that the game did otherwise save "correctly" because there are several buildings and outdoor elements I built/furnished after these buildings that are perfectly fine. I can't be 100% sure that the bug happened while opening since I didn't immediately check them, but I did not move the buildings or interact with them before discovering they had been reset.

I otherwise really love this game, so I hope this can be fixed quickly.

Hi, so sorry you ran into this bug, that sounds extremely frustrating.
A couple of other people have reported a similar issue, it's here in my bug tracker (just added a link to this convo as well):

I'll be sure to message back here once it's solved!

I actually found a solution to restoring the old interiors! (specifically for the buildings with the changed interior shape) I have no idea what about this process made this work (so there are likely many unnecessary steps) and I can't seem to replicate it again - but maybe it'll help understand the bug -

(for context I had a house that had been bugged and took on the layout of a sewer grate interior - which in and of itself was bugged, certain items couldn't be placed on certain tiles)
(for even more context I had previously placed and edited the interior of a sewer grate at the beginning of my play through, but bulldozed it soon after - perhaps this is an added factor)

1- I bulldozed the bugged house
2- I tried placing another, different style house in the exact position, and it also took on the bugged sewer interior
3- I bulldozed the second bugged house
4- I then placed another third house in a different position away from the bugged spot
5- I then placed random items in the interior of the third house so that it saved my changes
6- I then moved the third house one tile shifted from the original area of the bugged house, then shifted it onto the exact spot
7- Once this third house was in the place of the old bugged house it took on the interior of the first house before it bugged out

This is probably useless info but maybe it'll help someone!

I haven't tried Kiwithryn's solution yet,

But something similar happened to me too. I had some interiors reset/change shape while the game was still open + some other minor things (objects animating while no one was there - in one case a spoon animating with no bowl/Gourdlet to use it.)

After reopening the game I discovered my population was 0 and all interiors had been wiped.

Closing/opening the game didn't seem to fix this, nor did reinstalling. Peebtown has suffered a catastrophic paranormal event during this most spookiest of Halloween seasons, it would appear. :steamsad:

Thank you for this! This helped me a lot, and I fixed this in the latest patch!

This bug is now fixed, if you're on the latest version (1.0.1i) then this will not happen in the future!
Unfortunately, existing savefiles may still have this problem, but it is fixed going forward for new savefiles.
If you really want to load up an older savefile that had this problem, you should just delete any buildings that were experiencing this problem and rebuilding them, that should take care of the probleb, but the only way I can ensure that this won't happen again is to start a new town!
