Permanent fix for not launching on Windows 10/11

I bought this for my daughter's laptop, which came with Windows 11, and it wouldn't launch. The fix of setting the main executable to Windows 7 compatibility mode didn't work, so I did some digging. It took less time to find the problem than it did to type this, I don't know why the devs haven't patched it. Even though the game runs in a mode where it is supposed to use DX12, it still tries to load the older DX DLLs that don't exist in newer versions of windows, and crashes when that fails.

To fix it, download and run the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Microsoft, here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

It will download and install the DLLs for every version of DirectX that your computer doesn't have. The game will then run fine.

(I'm realizing as I type this that I didn't actually go back and turn off Windows 7 compatibility mode before I gave her computer back, but that shouldn't technically be required after this.)
