Totally agree, though. All the extra that's packed into this game. Of course, I'm playing through and thinking to myself, "Why does this seem so familiar?" Then I set up camp, and they sit around the campfire, and the howling of eldritch horrors echoed in darkest dungeons of my brain.
Edit: So, three of the four contracted Dysentery. But. They were alive when they reached Oregon City, so that counts! First run through, completed. One ox dead, one sent off to The Hoof GP, but that was all the losses.
Well done! I'm on my second playthrough now, I made it to Ft. Boise this time with my entire party alive but when I left the fort for Oregon City, my financier of the group got killed by a bear attack because I had no ammunition to fight back. Had no money for ammo and nobody was trading ammo at Ft. Boise so I'm kind of screwed on that until I find a traveler with some willing to trade. We'll see if I can make it through this final leg.
To any devs out there who read this, Thanks a bunch and if you guys keep up this quality of work you will get yourself a long-standing customer for years to come! Don't lose sight like most game development companies who only chase after the money and forget about quality for the customers. Absolutely gorgeous game this is and I will be playing it for a very very long time.
