But I had to choose between the Megalodon and the Kyoto.
So what I did was, Let the two face off as NPC's
The Megalodon attacked a Terran Fleet in my Hub when I connected the gate to Segaris,
Odin, 2 M7s, and Several support bombers came through, The Megalodon walked all over them and lived with 30% Hull
I attacked a Kyoto with the Megalodon, and won
I attacked the Megalodon with the Kyoto and lost.
Why? Boron ship fires extremely powerful missiles and projectiles (Gaus Cannons)
It is faster and has more manuevarability it has more guns, But has only 2GJ less shields but faster shield regen and 250k less Hull. and the Kyoto has a few spots where it cannot shoot so well from unforunately. And the Megalodon has a lot more focused guns on any given position.
But, It is up to who ever plays to decide what they like, The Megalodon wins hands down, After seeing that NPC destroy an Odin and its support fleet of bombers and M7s and live with 30% Hull left.
Right now I am flying the Kyoto to see if I like it as a long term ship, Because it is easy to refuel you can dock a transport ship there, even corvette or bombers. Which is quite lovely!
The Megalodon only supports M3 - M5 class vessels and that is about it, also ( Thank goodness for transport devices )
But ultimately the Terrans are the bad guys in Albion Prelude, and they will lead the universe to its doom if they succeed in destroying the Commonwealth.
But this is due to a misunderstanding,
The Terrans believe that the Commonwealth is responsible for the Xenon fleet who attacked Earth Force which also lead to the destruction of Torus..
The CEO of Plutarch Mining Corp in Albion Delta told the Terrans that Jonferson reverse engineered AGI and Xenon ships (Which is true)... But PMC added that they then constructed an armada of AGI to lead an attack on the Terrans, and foolishly enough they accepted the " Evidence " Provided to them by the Plutarch CEO and then decided to wage war against the Commonwealth,
Ultimately, If you wish to save the Universe and all of its races, You need to side with the Commonwealth who will obviously try to find a peaceful resolution, where as the Terrans will not care for peace they only want revenge and "retribution"
My story might be slightly incorrect or missing important details, But there that is generally what is happening
Then I played AP and thought "yet another good concept fumbled by bad decisions."
Terrans, Commonwealth. What does it matter? The "war" repeats ad inifitum, somewhat rectified in 3.0. But still, badly designed, badly incorporated and badly scripted.
I love the X-games, but Egosoft needs to get their s**t together. Either you should have made the war a real war or just left it out. But that was me ranting.
If I had to choose, I'd go with Terrans since they got the short end of the stick regarding getting their torus blown up, then I read the x-encyclopedia and the lore contradicts so many times that I'm left clueless and don't really care about the story.
Egosoft could have said that Earth was invaded by gummy bears for all I care. It wouldnt have made the game worse storywise.
So its not all too easy for them to work on AP and Rebirth at the same time,
Yes there are SO many things they could make better, but alas, they wont.
Only difference was HOW we went about it. Also whose industrial base we used to acheieved that end Seems the game let,s me do that
But we don't want our systems to be like
Race: ( Player Name )
What kind of race is that? I never seen one with my name before! with 0 Population either lol. =D
They should add more mechanics in like, People will want land deeds, space deeds, To construct structures, you can sell it or lease it and have a steady Tax income along with lease payments,
Build structres in orbit of your planet so the planet gets more productive.
But I think the last one I mentioned is a feature of X Rebirth
Well, you can do it.
Amass a fleet consisting of 50 M2 per sector, yes, per sector. Let's say that we'll permanently occupy 200 sectors.
50*200= 10'000 M2s
Set them to attack enemies.
Set all races to enemy.
Also, you should have some backup for the losses you'll experience, so lets be conservative and say a backup fleet consisting of 5'000 M2's.
Congrats, you have now taken over the universe.
At a cost of 3-4x10^12 credits, or 3-4 trillion credits.
However, the races will still spawn ships and stations out of the blue, while you will lose ships and cannot replace them thus slowly losing the ground, eventually the races will "reclaim" their sectors.
Rinse repeat.
If you go modified, there is probably some mods or scripts that let you live out your dream of conquering. But vanilla, no with reference to the post above.
I´ve ended the War, as Terran Commander :P
Then why did the commonwealth need the terrans to help them out in defeating the xenon ?
