complex contsruction kits
so today i decided i needed to go and earn somme credits. so i seted up a ore mine and conect it with my solar power farm via the complex contstruction kit . but here is my problem aprently the solar power plant needs the crystals. i tought it was only a speed boost in the creation of the energy cells.so i want to setup a crystal fab. but i dont see any option to conect it to the same complex contrucion kit hub thing. does anyone know how to do this becuas i dont have a clue right now.

Watch CDRDave's X3TC tutorials on youtube... he has one about complex building that will work well for you... watch all the videos actually, a must watch for any TC or AP player.

They have to be close enough to connect, the chances are that it is too far away. You can fix this though. Get a ship that can equip a tractor beam and equip it with one. Many transport ships and most corvettes can equip a tractor beam in the front or rear slots. Fly around 3 km away from the silicon mine then fire the tractor beam at the asteroid or mine itself, if the purple beam turns green, you know it has connected properly. Now you can drag the silicon mine around with the green laserbeam acting as a rope. Just pull it close enough to your ore mine and solar powerplant. You should be able to connect your silicon mine now.

even if the 2 stations are close enough you still cant as it matters how the station is facing too.

this is entirely incorrect, your stations can be connected to a complex regardless of facing as long as you are within the 25km distance (max for cck connections).

iv found out how you have to set it up. aperently you have to use multiple complex construction kits to put evrything togeter. 1 complex construction kit only puts 2 stations togeter .and with another one you can add 1 more station.

Ah... yes... number of complex constructions kids equals number of stations in the complex minus 1.

Stations = n
complex constuction kids needed for stationg = n - 1

Think of it like, each time you add a new station, you need to have a tube to connect it to the complex.

then why do i get sometimes I cant connect to station at times when the complex and new station are next to each other and I forced to kill the hub and re connect everything.

Usually you have to drop a station within a certain distance of the complex. Then you drop the cckit and select the complex and the new station and you should be good to go

you got the the TL ships console comands then special and then drop station. it helps if you have an advenced satelite in the area. so you can see the placement in 3D.

Is the station you are trying to connect >25km away from the complex hub? (silly question i know it is). Connect that station to another station and place/create a new complex hub in range(25km) of the existing hub. when finished connecting the stations to the hub(s) connect the hubs. *Warning* When connecting the hubs, the first hub you select will be kept the second hub you then connect to will be destroyed but all the stations connected to the hub(s) will now be in the one hub/plex. So be careful to pick the hub you want to keep first.

The complex hub only connects to anything within a 20km range of itself. Therefore you may be able to connect a station on extreme range (24.9km from complex hub for eg) and the station next to it is out of range (25.1km for eg) you do not connect the out of range station to the extreme range station. You are trying to link it to the hub and not the closest station. The hub however is out of range even though the plex is 'next to it'

when you waste your time killing the hub and reconnecting everything you are moving the hub closer to the stations that were previously out of range and putting them inside connection range, this is a waste of time, money and ccks. As described above just create a new plex tie in the loose stations then tie the plexes together.

TL:DR
Q: The quote at the top

A: Because you do not connect the station next to the complex, to the complex. You connect it to the complex hub and that is greater than 25km from the station

if a station is 20 + km away from the hub. but not 20 + km away from a station conected to the hub .that station will conect to the other station wich is connected to to hub. also if you work with mines you can move them using tractor beams to they are closer to the hub.

You sir are entirely wrong on this point in regards to a vanilla game. Every station connects to the complex hub. If any station is greater than 25km away from the complex hub you cannot connect it.

The workaround is described in my earlier post and is basically create a new complex hub within range of the one you are building (25km) and join the two complexes together after all the stations are connected.

This method becomes mandatory once you start building megaplexes (>100 stations) as the stations eventually end up having to be placed further and further away

well it worked for me. i had a solar farm at 20 km from the hub and a ore mine at 10 km away or so. and nexst to the solar farm at 21.3 km i put my crystal fab .and when i used the complex construction kit. i conected the crystal fab with the hub. wich made a toke from the crystal fab to the solar station.

Flichtshooter, you got me scratching my head until i checked x3wiki

my mistake is that cck's reach 25km editing previous posts to reflect the truth
