Can anyone recommmend a good map add on
I've been trying to find a good universe map of the game and came across a ton of player made maps, but not all of them were for Albion Prelude and wasnt sure about some of the download sites. I came across one made by or with Scorps, but it was for Reunion. It tried to DL to the X3 Folder so it could be used in game but I think becuase the game is on Steam, it makes it hard for DLers to find. Anyone have any good mods and where to DL. Thanks

I am also currently looking at mods. Over at the egosoft forums there are a few maps you might be looking for.

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=216690 This has all the mods that are generally stable. Some are part of a larger mod.

I am looking for a mod to reduce collisions, and improve pathing.

XRM mod adds something like 50 sectors and as far as i can tell is the one stop shop for mods, some of the recommended plugins sound awesome too, have a read:

One well established map is that provided on Roguey's site

http://roguey.co.uk/x3ap/sectors/
not to be confused with Roguey's TC map which you will find in many links.

That map is Flash based and if you look bottom right corner you can enlarge the view to fullscreen. Then click on a sector.

Once showing teh contents of a sector you can ...
hover over a station and see a screenshot of it
use the arrows to look at adjacent sectors
look at the type and quality of Asteroids that you should find there.

Here is an Excel based version of the AP map
http://roguey.co.uk/x3ap/help/offline/jcc_map/
I've not looked in detail at that one as I don't have Excel on this machine.

The Argonopedia map is sadly lacking but handy for a quick printout [I'd reduce colour density to save ink or toner though!]

Another interactive AP map is

I do wish we had an in-game map along the lines of Scorps but we don't. :(

You do know that there is a viewer (excel) that can just view but not change anything.

Thanks. I did. I just hate using viewers when I'm so used to using the real thing on my laptop

I went looking for a printable AP map and finally noticed Roguey has one!

Any new X3 players should note the the gate pathways are represented by teh little coloured tabs and not all the links are shown with a line. Also sometimes you need to satisfy plots to get access to certain gates.
