Sourcing hull plating as commonwealth?

So I am at the point in the Shady Business plot where I have to get 100 hull plating. Only problem is it is a terran ware and I cannot dock with terran stations to buy it. How do I get my hands on these?

i got a few hunderd of hull plating by killing a lot of terran :)

You could also take the longer route by killing some argon in the war sectors and doing missions(might have to kill a few argon first) until your rep is high enough to dock and buy. Or just kill Terran ships for it as Roog suggested.

I didn't really want to have to kill terran ships since they are hard to fight, or argon ships to ruin my standings. What I ended up doing was connecting the hub to Neptune-Althes and using the dockware manager addon to add hull plating to the list of wares I want to purchase. Set Terrans&ATF to friend (not sure if this helps them dock), killed some Xenons in Segaris (not sure if this helped either, other than with race standings). Eventually npc traders brought in enough hull platings, success!

That works too. Those Xenon ships in Segaris should give you a rep boost. Also if your buddy buddy with the Argon (and want to keep it that way.) you can try killing Pirates in the 4 terran controlled unknown sectors. Unfortuanly they have slow spawn rates, but fortuantly there aren't any real terran forces to take them out.

chosing strong arms as a faction will give you all of these.
but then again, who wants to collect the 250 m/a warheads after that one? :D

Ran into the same problem only I am Terran - could not dock at Beryll to pickup spaceflies, so I had to go capture some which was the hardest part of the plot for me, BUT discovered even though I was at war with the Argon, I could go to Argon sectors and nock off a few Xenon and in border colonies pick up Argon status by doing some jobs. Could it be the same for Terran? Pick up a few jobs and gain some Terran rank. You MUST have Terran rank AND Argon rank at the end to finish the plot anyway (save the universe and make peace), so you might as well start getting some rank early on.

Well from what ive heard and read, but not myself confirmed (SPOILER ALERT) you don't have to end the war.
