Plasma Beam Cannon won't drop

Hello all.
I'm trying to farm the Plasma Beam Cannon Does anyone know where i can find a frieght drone?

There is a pirate base that sells em one or more. but the bases seem to spawn random. The cannons can sit in a claimable L if you shoot enough of them one L could be claimed with 4 or more guns inside. Read: shoot Lots o L's. Claim any you find. Hope for Lasers.
Thats how i got mine. But have not even spend a second using them... MM achievement here i come.

Ugh, guys he's talking about the weapon that the LASER TOWERS USE Which is the Plasma Beam Cannons.

No, they arent Farmable, you cannot fit them w/out exploits.

Can't you eject a laser tower then freight transfer the plasma beam cannon onto your ship or a freight drone. Might need to get close to it ?

Process

this is relatively straight forward:
Drop your LaserTower
command Freight Drone to collect 1 Plasma Beam Cannon from LT
Scoop Up your Freight Drone
Scoop Up LaserTower

I think you can deploy and destroy them also and there's something like a 1 in 10 or so chance they will drop a plasma beam cannon.

As far as I know that has been fixed and is no longer possible.
Instead you can buy Laser towers, and eject 1 at a time, and if you shoot it before it deploys (10 minute timeframe) you have a small chance that it will leave a crate with a beam cannon.
Has happend a few times for me, but sometimes I accidently shoot the crate while doing it :/

As a curiosity, is it possible to mass farm it?

Like deploy 100 lasertowers then launch a hammerhead at em?

Interesting thought :) Has to be tried I guess :D
However I dont think you can launch many missiles at them, as most of them require an enemy target.

i found one in an unknown sector with unforcused jump drive on X3 TC not sure if they are still in the X3 AP add-on. Appently they spawn in the unknown sectors that are not in the known universe (can't use gates to get there)

No you did not :)
What you found is the Phased Laser Array, which is only found in an UFJD unknown sector.
The Plasma beam cannon is different, as it is the one used by Lasertowers.
