I need help with the paranid
I spent 3 days training marines and prepping and M6 so I could cap a Hyperion. When I finally managed to get hold of one I lost rep with the paranid, a lot of it. I have now managed to get the rep back to the position that I can dock with their stations and enter their core worlds but Laser towers, orbital weapons platforms and a large number of ships are still hostile.
Any one know how I can either fix this( I have tried apologising for the shooting which they accept, but remain hostile, and switching my IFF to enemy and back to friend) or give me a way to cap the hyperion without losing the rep

You could try starting a sector trader in Empires Edge. Make sure it has no fight command, but it is topped up in sheilding. May take a little while to raise your rep, but I have found that if your player ship stays out of sectors that are hostile (that you have previously had a good rep with) for awhile, the enemy ships and lasers will eventually return to a neutral setting.

I really have lots of faction troubles. My way of fixing this problem. (after I shot yet another 2 or more fighters of them when doing a mission in that faction sector.... Ill leave that factions sector and change ship. thats all there is too it. By leaving the factions sectors alone and chancing ship... All factions "red" ships turn normal again.

- be sure not to go to another of the same factions space. Problems with Teladi? go to a split sector or any other except Teladi.
-This rule only (change ship) works instant. If you got in your current non troublesome sector and not having shot at the hostile faction ships in that sector your chancing ships.

My record is loosing rep flying with a few ships in a parinid stock exchange. The exchange was blown up. few M2's lost. Lots of angry paranid. I jumped to Argon Prime. Made sure to avoid passing paranid there, docked.. Chanced ship. Everything back to normal after that action.
Except the massive loss of reputation. My save game could be contineud instead of a restart to prevourious.

Ps. all me other ships that where in the Paranid sector. I had to jump them out/dock them in paranid facilities and just make sure all of my war ships where out of that sector. For the trade ships and stations in that sector. They wont be harmed during the incident.

For Military fighters that are hostile, you ussually have to find the M6/M2/M1 they are escorting and apologize to that instead, this should automatically make them all neutral again.
Some times it takes several attempts, and a few times they always go hostile again!

Leaving the sector and apologizing to all enemy paranids you meet while working on building your rep again should at some point make it all friendly again.

The only thing I have been unable to return from enemy is laser towers :/

I don't know if it still works but there is a way to deal with lasertowers that are hostile.

1st SAVE YOUR GAME, that way if it no longer works then you can reload and figure some other way out.

Ok heres what you need to do. Find a big missile with enough damage to totally destroy the laser tower in one hit, it also must have a range greater than Triplex Scanner range at least 40km. Target the Lasertower, retreat to just within the range of your Big Assed Missile, i.e. if its range is 50km then get to about 47-48km away from the Lasertower. Next start a jump to another sector (remember to keep the Lasertower targetted), and fire your Big Assed Missile at the offending Lasertower. As you are not In-Sector the kill should not cause any rep loss (unless they altered it recently). Some folk say that you don't need to jump as long as you're far enough away from the Lasertower but I say better safe than sorry.

And if it doesn't work then reload your save and all is well again, UNLESS you're playing the Suicidal Squid start in which case you were boned the moment you started playing :)
