I've been up to collision range with asteroids still no option to scan.
It will show that it's a silicon or an ore rock even if it's not scanned. Only after you scan will it show you the yield. I need to scan the asteroid I think before I can plant a silicon mining station on the asteroid, right? I don't want to buy the station before I am able to scan the asteroid just in case.
I want to keep this as simple as possible, but if you are happy with the build, then go to that place and then save your work, or take a small ship with you to be able to dock at the station (or any) then save your workmanship....remember, saving is your friend...visit it as often as you like, but plan your saves into another slot if you mess up something that your'e not happy with.
enjoy!
Yep..I think you have the right idea...
