Essential mods/scripts
Hi! I played this game a year or so ago and I used Lucike's script collection, MARS and some extra. However it seems that Lucike's scripts are discontinued (at least on the english forum and I dont speak german), so I'm looking for a replacement mostly for CODEA, MEFOS, Commercial Agent and CLS1/2. If someone can link me an updated script collection or replacement scripts that would be great.

Also, while I'm really interested in XRM, it simply kills my fps and the dev is more or less saying screw you, upgrade your toaster, so if anyone found an fps fix, please tell :)

TBH if you arn't going to be playing XRM or similar conversion mod all you will need it the bonus pack, it has all the essentials like CAG's CLS dockware manager and all signed too.

First of all, the bonus pack is outdated, second, it's mostly not what I'm looking for (CAG? CLS was bugged in it even a year ago), I wrote that I'm looking for updates/equivalents of Lucike's script collection, to be more exact the anything that enhances fleet building/carriers/fighter combat (CODEA) and automates turrets on capital ships (though I did find a new version of MARS) but thanks for your advice anyway.

Well after spending the good part of my afternoon diggin through the egosoft forums, I managed to find what I'm looking for, I even got better functionality than CODEA and MARS, though it's still early in my game, I'll see how it works with 100+ ships in a fleet :)

If you don't have a dedicated video card, going into your bios and giving your onboard more memory can fix your fps., just a tip,

As for mods,

-Drone Carrier Software 2 (DCS2) v2.07 is a good 1 for when you have stations in system,
as well as a way to easly control fighters in your own ship.

Best mods:
Lucike's mod collection (dozens of excellent mods like universe trader, security service, travel agency etc.)
Cruise engine (increases maximum speed of ship by depleting weapon energy)
MARS (turret scripts for smarter shooting)
Universe Explorer (you can send out ships to scan sectors, asteroids and to drop off satellites)

So are turrets that bad without MARS? *More of a trader atm but will build a fleet*

Didn't feel like starting a new thread.
I want to download rougey's mod but can it easily be disabled?
Also where are save games located so that i can backup what i've already done.

It's not that they're bad it's just MARS improves on them in every way.

MARS automatically arms turrets and switches weapons according to the situation and the enemy. Against fast targets, it will switch to fast weapons and when the weapons are overheating, it tries to switch to an ammo-based weapon. Besides, it turns drones into goblins -> your little helpers. They distract the enemy by attacking them from behind and they can collect loot. It's very comfortable.
