No ALT TAB in the space age?

Is there something wrong with my settings? Whenever I alt tab, I have no graphics when I come back into the game. I can hear sounds of the game, but no visuals. It's all black.

Works fine here. Something must be wrong, because the game is designed to be able to run in the background when alt-tabbed.

You should run game in windowed mode and use utility "Borderless Gaming". It will solve the problem.

It all depends on your setup, really. I have had this happen, off and on, on different systems. I recommend choosing the option to not have the game stay running while minimized, just in case.

Windowed mode defeats this issue, since the window is not subjected to "losing focus" and video restart/refresh isn't needed.

I stumbled on this thread while having the same issue in 2023 while using an AMD graphics card and trying to play in fullscreen. Disabling anti-aliasing at the in-game config menu solved the problem. (I was still able to use anti-aliasing be enabling it for the game in the AMD software instead). Hope that helps someone!
