Tractor Beam and moving asteroids
I fitted a Tractor Beam to a Skiron to move an asteroid, but the asteroid is not moving.

I can't fit the Tractor Beam to my rear turret for some reason; is this the problem?
Are we supposed to tow the asteroid?
I tried firing the beam at the asteroid and moving in reverse but the asteroid didn't budge; the ship just gradually moved away from the asteroid until the power got low and I needed to move in close again.

Do I need to buy a ship that can fit the Tractor Beam to a rear turret?

Can only move them if you place a mine on them.

Ah, thanks.

How do I turn the tractor beam off?
I just tried it and moved the station ok, right clicked the laser and thought I turned it off, then moved away; but the tractor beam was apparently still working and rubber-banded me back into the asteroid, destroying my ship.

Edit: Ok, it seems to tractor beam is turned off by targeting and firing at empty space.

The Mine with the Asteroid will keep moving for a little ways after you release the tractor beam.

Shoot the tractor beam again to release the station. Start by accelerating slowly to 80m/s
