Completing missions for that race. And to a really lesser extent: trading with that race.

Bartering helps as well if you can get them to talk to you.

I would try to get my hands on a quick TP and jumpdrive (even if you have to sell your trading ship) and drive around doing taxi missions and if you are lucky you can get some "I need a ship" missions that can simply do themselves. Just remember to drop a satellite at shipyards or park a cheap scout there. Remember to tune the engine before letting it auto to the destination. And remember, if you are Terran, the Asteroid Belt and Jupiter are warzones, weak ships can't cross them easily.

Get several 'hard/very hard' missions at once and 'turbo-boost' your relation with whatever race you want. Not sure several missions at once (over)boosts your rep-gain, but it does feel that way.
Also having some races rep up seems to help bring the others up, it at least seems to work that way for pirates, which kinda makes sense. (Low rep with other races means little gain in pirate rep per mission, higher rep with other factions seems to boost how much rep you earn per pirate-mission.)

Buy a Police Licence as soon as they let you and you can add value to some of those actions already recommended above :)

OP said 'without combat', so a police license would have no use if you do not use it :)

I think if you start a Sector Trader or three in their sectors they will gradually gain you rep

Depends how much the race hates you. If you are -3 or more with race rank only combat or selling wares to them at your stations can dig you out. From -2 to max missions are fastest with taxi missions being the easiest. Illegals generate more rep than other wares so having an illeglas complex in hatikvah's faith is pretty effective at neutralising hostile races. You can force missions to spawn by repeatedly flying through the same gate.

Easiest way to get max race relations buy yourself a FAST personel transport ship eg BORON ANGEL jumpdrive docking computor 20 fighter drones energy cells be a taxi driver some military transport missions pay 10 million or more you rep up super fast

By the time a race pays you 10million for a transport mission you already have your rep pretty high with that race. Also in AP the Angel is not 'that' fast for a TP ... it is literally half-way down the list when sorted for speed on a TP.

Have to agree with Red, the Angel isn't that fast. Real fast is the Split Ocelot or the Terran Mani. These are the 2 races that are high speed. Boron is more high tech shields and exotic crippling weapons, Split is fast firepower, Taeladi are cargo, toughness and flexibility while Terran is all round high performance but limited flexibility.

TP wise ocelot for speed or Geochen for shields. Still most taxi missions do not need a TP and can be done in any M5 or Springblossom with a cargo life support system.

? I tried with a SB, the reply was "I'm not getting into that!".

Missions will tell you very clearly they need a proper transport, a TP. When they say fast ship or so, they are not asking for a TP so you can bring whatever has enough cargo to hold the passengers.

I find that the light bulb missions are the ones that need the TP while the credit symbol (freight) ones are the ones that treat the people as cargo. Still check both though since the "ship delivery" light bulb missions are a good source of credits and the credit symbol freight runs are the standard cargo delivery ones.

Missions with Important Meeting and Luxury Transportation in the text need a TP.

Light bulb taxi missions can be either. Personnel transport missions are trade mission only and require multiple passengers to be shipped.

Ship delivery missions are fine assuming the ship can be sourced within 3 sectors while the cargo delivery missions can sometimes demand 5+ TS+ ships full of hard to obtain cargo to be delivered within 15 mins.
