RTX 3080 and 7600x broken performance?

Hello, i just bought this game, and i have a feeling, that based on benchmarks/forums, the game runs much worse than it should on my 3080.
I get 40fps in the menu screen, and about the same in game, with HIGH rtx settings and DLSS PERFORMANCE at 1440p.
I checked MSI Afterburner, and the gpu is running at almost 100 percent, usage is almost 100 percent, frequencies appear fine.. the FPS are the same in the beginning, as when the gpu reaches the 82 degree limit.. the only way to get over 60 fps is DLSS Ultra performace. So is this normal? Or maybe the recent patches make the game more demanding, and i am reading old posts?

Probably a big part of that is your card is getting hot. When Nvidia cards reach 80+ C on the core temps they significantly reduce clocks a lot, slowing down the card quite a bit. That's likely a big contributor to your issues. What clocks are you seeing when you run this game for your card?

Core clock 1845, memory clock 9502. I tested the gpu with unigine superposition benchmark today, and i get about 6-7 percent lower performance than i should (14900 vs 13 900 points), but thats 4 fps difference if i was running at 60fps, which i am not (im running at 35-52 in game). I found out that by turning off rtxdi, restir and nee cache i can get another 15 fps, but imho its not worth it.
So either im getting the correct performance minus 3 fps, or something else is wrong in the pc.

I checked and that's a little higher clock speed than the nvidia default so you're doing fine there, despite the high heat of the card. It seems like everything is normal there. This is just the normal performance of that video card at your chosen resolution in this game.
