I have an RX 6600, will it run?

i know, Portal With RTX utilized path tracing, i mean AMD got an RT core as well i know it's weak, but how can the top AMD GPU can't even render the game playable as well.
The problem is the API This game used (Nvidia RTX) is coded in such a way that it will only ever allow this game to run in full-speed hardware accelerated mode on an Nvidia RTX video card. The game is actually coded in such a way where it will not allow this game to run in hardware-accelerated mode on any AMD (Or Intel) video card. If anyone does get this to run on AMD video cards it will be running in software emulated mode using the system CPU and drivers for ray tracing. Even if people are using a 7000 series AMD video card that has dedicated hardware for ray tracing that won't matter. This game will not use that feature of AMD video cards and it will not run in hardware mode on AMD video cards. It's Nvidia only if people want to run it "The way it's intended to be played" / AKA hardware-accelerated at full speed.

it can TECHNICALLY run on any GPU that supports Ray Tracing, the only issue is that it won't run well. You'll most likely end up having to run the game at a super low resolution, using TAA-U and FSR to scale up, and even then you're BARELY gonna get 20-30 fps.
I have a 6500 XT and it would barely launch, but other people have been able to get it "working."

it's seriously that bad? wow.

Until AMD further improves their ray tracing performance capabilities, Nvidia's tech is the only hope you'll have of playing this at a reasonable frame rate. This is a free tech demo - you can try launching it and seeing if it will work, but don't get pissed off when it doesn't play nice.

I just want to try it but i don't expect the 1FPS i got, seriously i just got 1 FPS, i mean RX 6600 is kinda like RTX 3060 but maybe 25% lack RT power but it still good

This is a known issue, there are multiple other threads already in the steam discussions regarding this issue.

The game is broken on AMD hardware, specifically RDNA2, the developers seemingly used oversized shader programs that can fill up the vector registers beyond the amount allowed per wave, but still require more so the GPU swaps between those registers and the individual SIMDs scratch memory. This means that in a single 1440p frame of data one shader program can take 100ms to execute. This isn't an RT performance issue, it seemingly is a software development design choice that might work great for Nvidia GPUs (understandable) but it is fundamentally wrong for RDNA2.

I'm getting less than 1 frame per second on low settings with an AMD RX6750 xt. The low ray tracing settings in Cyberpunk 2077 are giving me a much more playable 48fps. It seems when they say "with RTX" they specifically mean the proprietary nvidia ray tracing API and not the vendor agnostic directX or vulkan ray tracing APIs that will run on any card that supports it.

Indeed, RX 6950 XT got 1FPs as well, it's not playable on AMD not because the card aren't capable, it's just politic.
Typical Nvidia.

First thing first, learn the difference between raytracing and RTX, then you can understand why it isn't an "optimization" issue, but an alredy milion times explained hardware incompatibility issue.
