Are all nvidia consumers stupid?
"My game can run cybepunk 2077 at 4k60fps but can't run this game"
"I have a 3080 but can't run this game" (probably no dlss)

Did they knew what their product did before buying it? They just saw a ad of minecraft rtx and bought the card? I feel like everyone who gave a negative review is sheep.

To be fair, I feel like the default settings for this title should be better.
If they're telling everyone who downloads this game that they need to adjust XYZ settings to ABC values, it should just come out of the box with those graphics settings set. No one should be using the default values where the game runs at 20 fps.

Don't look at Steam "reviews". :-)

This game is fully path-traced. Cyberpunk 2077 is not... yet.

I don't think most titles would want to be fully path traced. The whole idea sounds dumb.

Maybe an experimental indie title that can run on RTX 2060 cards.

Well, Amd users share a fair amount of "stupidity" when people keep popping up wondering why their below minimun specs doesn't run an nVidia tech demo.

I haven't seen a single negative review of a amd user. They might exist but probably in the minority.

On the other hand, all console users are amd users, so I have to aggre with you

They literally changed almost every texture in the game and yet are pretending it's the Ray Tracing that matters. From 3GB to 24GB.

It looks good but the whole thing is a marketing ploy from Nvidia+Valve when in reality Valve did all the work. I don't get it at all.

Ray tracing doesn't re-texture the entire game Valve.

Yes, raytracing does not do that.
But rtx remix gives us that option, besides the raytracing.

It's retexture + ray tracing. They technically did mention that with the nvidia remix trailer.

They use this retexturing trick on every game they re-release, in particular the minecraft RTX ones. And people fall for it, so why stop it?

Be honest, what would you say if they didnt upgrade the textures in this free DLC update? You, all the same people throwing tantrums, would call it "lazy" and "no effort" or something like that.

Besides, cant you deactivate the new textures anyways? (idk if it changes to the original textures though, but they change) Just turn off "Enhancement Assets" in the Alt+X options and see if you like it better.

New textures or not, the raytracing features still get to be shown.
And interested users will try out the many other graphics settings rtx remix has to offer.

The benefits of RT are not just "looking cool", but also the ease with which devs will be able to make complex scenes without having to use time-consuming and expensive tricks.
This means more time will be spent making the game actually good, instead of just being "shiny". Double win.

But they had to, because portal RTX is a advertisement to nvidia remix as well, so your comment is superfluous

I did not know that, I will try it

You're missing the point of the entire post. There is a huge amount of nvidia users leaving negative reviews because A) they haven't tried DLSS B) they think their 20 series card can handle this game easy (LOL) or C) crashes, this one being a fair criticism. It's fair to assume most people who play this are nvidia consumers, and most of the reviews being negative around point A or B means it's fair to assume nvidia consumers are stupid.

In hindsight everyone jumping on the ray tracing bandwagon reminds me of everyone jumping on the NFT bandwagon!

I would also like to point out I'm nvidia user as well, but I bought the card for other reasons since the ray tracing seemed more of a bonus than an reason to buy the card.

This comment is a bit weird to interpret but I will try it. I assume RT is "ray tracing" and when you say "ray tracing" I suppose you mean "nvidia ray tracing tools".

Yeah? Nvidia HAS to do this. Their whole RTX line is gambling on ray tracing, if they can't have devs having a doable way of integrating ray tracing into their games they're doomed.

Ray tracing technology is still so, so far. Portal seems to be the only fully path traced game in the market (I'm not sure if quake 2 RTX and minecraft RTX are exactly ray traced) and the negative reception to it shows how even the damn market doesn't understand the bells and whistles of ray tracing.

That's only IF the scenario in use has one of the following
1 - implementing doesn't require thinkering the whole game around it
2 - is easy enough to implement from a developer standpoint
3 - has expressive gains

I get it, people want ray tracing in their games. But it's still so far. You basically are maturing the market with your card, just like people who bought 5G phones. 5G isn't here yet, but with everyone buying the 5G phones, it creates enough demand and in the future it could be a normal thing.

In the meantime, DLSS is great. Now THAT moved the industry forward the moment it came to be. I am really glad nvidia created that. And nvidia remix also sounds dope as hell too, but we don't have our hands on it yet so we can't tell for sure.

Well no one thought 3d was needed or possible at one point.
Then 3dfx came along and tried to corner it, they failed and no longer exist.
Now Nvidia is kinda doing the same thing, but things are much more complex now obviously, so maybe they will go the way of 3dfx eventually. I don't see who is going to replace them anytime soon tho since it clearly isn't AMD.
*shrug*
We'll probably all end up back on consoles paying a yearly fee for our constant dripfeed of mediocrity and locked down hardware.

3D was the next step for entertainment, ray tracing clearly isn't. I don't mind playing games with baked lighting for the next 20 years if nvidia's ray tracing fails

stop being such a doomer. AMD in the GPU space is one of the best alternatives for the average joe, who is ~80% of the consumer market. No open ray tracing isn't the end of the world.

On the other hand, I do wish AMD gives an answer to DLSS at some point. It's way too good to pass up on a 20 series card right now, even if AMD has fine wine and is the best GPU brand for linux.
