What resolution are you running at and what is the average FPS you are getting in the game?
I got bad input lag when I forced VSync from the NVidia control panel, as I was trying to get rid of the tearing. It seems the game has an issue with VSync.
1. Algorithm has its cost, including input lag.
2. GPU that works at brink of its capabilities, will produce input lags. That is exactly why pro players suggest limiting your fps at numbers slightly lower than your mid fps. When you underload your GPU, it produces much more stable image, with much less input lag.
3. It looks like the overload and lack of performance of your GPU is the real reason for the input lag, and not the DLSS. Of all things DLSS was supposed to save the situation just a bit.
Raytracing is NOT a cheap effect! Do not presume that having a top of the line videocard would make you capable of running it at maxed out settings. Also afaik 4080 is a quite low performance card. 4060, 4070, 4080 cards are using older chips, unlike 4090, which is also not enough.
THIS!
The base game doesn't have that.
Also there are many things that can effect this. What FPS are you getting? What kind of monitor do you have? What resolution? What refresh rate? What video card do you have? Are you getting less than 60 FPS?
