Maybe try re-installing your drivers (do clean install) and don't install geforce now? We don't need that junk on our computers to play games anyway.

geforce now? i do need that junk to play games. it's a cloud streaming service. my current laptop can barely load a webpage but using geforce now plays cyberpunk 2077 at max raytrace settings. it's a miracle. portal with rtx was working for a while then i got an infinite load. ended up being able to fix it by uninstalling through a geforce session and reinstalling.

Nvidia's GeForce Now can set the game's in-game settings for you if you want to but other than that it does not directly effect the performance of your games. You could set the same settings yourself and get the same performance without it installed. That thing is NOT A REQUIREMENT to get the maximum performance out of any video card. Your card will run just as fast or as slow with or without it. It's a social monitoring tool. Nvidia wants you to link your social accounts to it so Nvidia can monitor and record your activities then sell that data to ad companies so they can show similar games in ads to you.

i don't think you understand my situation all the way. i literally dont have a video card. dont have one. the only reason im able to play games is because geforce now's cloud streaming allows me to use a 'virtual' 4090. i dont have a 4090 though, i dont have a videocard at all.

for example, right now im playing cyberpunk 2077 at max settings. without a videocard. my laptop is a relic. if i launched the game through gog rather than geforce now the game wouldn't even start. the requirements just aren't met. geforce now is a virtual pc pretty much kind of like shadow. possibly youre thinking of another program?

Maybe I'm the total idiot and thinking of the wrong program. I thought GeForce Now was the stupid app that installs along side the drivers. Sorry.

well yes but it wasn't quite that. you know when you change your graphics settings in an old source game? on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc? and it just keeps making the same sound it played right before it froze like a broken record. thats what was happening, each time i loaded the game endlessly, but yeah this game loads like a b itch the first time.
