Constant Crashing on RTX 4090 with latest drivers

I've tried a ton of different settings but getting constant crashing with a 13900K and 4090. Not thrilled with the optimization for something claiming to utilize only the best hardware. Maybe wait a few days until they patch it.

Video driver crashed when zoning after the 4th or 5th room. This was with a 3080. Maybe my OC is too much for this?

edit: okey I guess I found a new Benchmark for stable oc on my card...at stock it runs well.

runs fine. no crashing here. rtx 4090 uv/oc, 5950x uv and 64gb xmp. 4k dlss quality max details(ultra preset + 8 bounces).

4080 5600x crashes as soon as I see the first portal open every time. Even get crashes in the main menu. It’s blue screened me 3 times and I gave up.

Most of them will reset to default when restarting the game.

constant crashing with 3090, and tearing. Seeing weird artifacting but I think only when I'm in video settings screen.

u crash when:

u do alt tab
force different resolution from in game menu
on some pcs when u change graphics settings in game not ALT X

I actually have not crashed when alt-tabbing. Someone wrote that running borderless windowed is the solution for that. I dunno, though, cuz I ran it Fullscreen. <shrug>

If you are overclocking your card, stop that.
This game is so demanding, I have to specifically adjust overclocking or undervolt settings for this game.

this is going to sound like a dee bag question but are you sure it's not your GPU? I spent 2 months fighting with a 3090-ti and it would crash while the system was sitting idle, no games running in background, no streaming software running, it didn't matter. just crashed all the time, borked my OS a couple times... got rid of the 3090-ti, traded it out for the 3080-ti, thing has been a rock. those new high end GPUs with their special connectors/adapters aren't fleshed out enough, in my opinion. I would test thoroughly with other games that you know "should" work, before blaming the optimization on this one, especially since pretty much all the early access footage we're seeing is on the exact card you're using.

Yes latest drivers, no overclock GPU or CPU, and validated files multiple times. Still same result, frequent crashes.

Some games (usually ones with RT) will stress your GPU more than your average game will, so sometimes a GPU profile you thought was stable, isnt quite so. Its not a big deal, so long as you know to act accordingly, and not just go on the forum blaming the game.

Anyway, I just finished the game and the only crash I got was when I tried to use 5K DLDSR lol no big

Yea this is poorly optimized. If I change settings from "fullscreen" to "borderless" game crashes. If i'm in "Fullscreen" mode, press windows key or alt+tab out, game crashes. STEAM Overlay doesn't work either. Once I open, it won't close.

Update: I was able to finish the game by first validating the files in Steam, then opening up GeForce Experience and clicking 'Optimize', then launching the game from GeForce Experience. Hope this helps you as well.
