Game doesn't let me see my FPS
Now this is just weird... Nvidia overlay has FPS as "N/A" when I try to enable it.
FRAPS doesn't seem to work on this game at all.
No clue what's going on here but seems like funky business.
Can see my FPS just fine on any other game...

steam has a built-in fps counter "settings->in a game"

I used cl_showfps 1 in console and my fps for some reason is capped at 20

Use steams own FPS counter

Interestingly enough - same issue - but even better - it appears that my 3090 isn't being triggered. I'm sitting at 10% or less GPU.

This simply refers to the level of DirectX the game is using, not your GPU.

mangohud does work if you want to try that - plus you get much more info than just FPS

who uses fraps anymore? what is this 2005?

Even steam's own fps counter isn't working for me.

I actually don't use it, it is just there and since Nvidia's FPS counter wasn't working, may as well give it a try lmao.

From what I have been able to find, it is an issue with the NVIDIA Remix software shaders that's forcing it to run in 7.0 compatibility instead of 9 like Portal 1

Steam's fps counter sort of works.
Sort of because it only seemed to work on Full Screen, 16:9 resolution.
Would not work on windowed mode or my native (21:9) resolution.
Either way, this game has given me more issues than Cyberpunk 2077 at launch lmao.

I have tried every flavour of FPS counter available and the most I can get is N/A.
