Godsworn also has units clip through each other while pathfinding and seems to have very simple textures avoiding reflections and metallic materials in its graphics, which should help a lot with performance by reducing calculations, so it should definitely be easier on a PC.
The new graphics of SG are not worse than the graphics of Godsworn. But Godsworn has nice graphics too a little more cartoony but better than what SG used to be. Now SG has equally good / better graphics.
for performance issues im sure SG has more to optimize but this doesn't mean - scrap the whole game. I don't have such problems I dont try to run at very high FPS, or res so im fine .
Gameplay looks like HOMM
Just a correction on this one point. Stormgate has had a day/night cycle in Infested Crater since EA started. Yes, that map was taken down for a while due to performance issues, but it's been back since 0.1.3 in November(before The Scouring demo released). Patch 0.3 simply updated the day/night cycle with the new lighting system and brought it to a custom version of a ladder map.
If you actually played this game rather than just stir up drama about it and shill other games, you might know this basic information.
You did a really poor job advertising it as "New Day and Night cycle coming" on reddit then. Should've worded it as "Updated" to avoid ambiguity and make it clear for people who don't care about co-op. Besides, The Scouring has it in PvP and it's a major gameplay feature there. Still a win in my book. And it didn't take $40m to achieve that.
Btw, you are so hostile and toxic because your favorite game has failed and quickly runs out of money while FG struggles to deliver any meaningful updates that would bump the player numbers for more than a week. It's fine, you can vent your frustration here, I'm a good listener. But it won't stop me from discussing games that do things better. If Blizzard veterans can't come up with solutions on their own - maybe they'll copy someone else's homework at least. This is what Blizzard was known for after all - copying ideas from other games and polishing the hell out of them.
Words have meaning. "New" in this case means a new version.
Stormgate is not my favorite game. I like it, but it's unfinished and I have plenty of other games that interest me.
This is some interesting projection. I'm not venting any frustrations here. I was merely correcting a point you had wrong. I am sorry if I offended you with facts.
Also, this is the Stormgate forums, are you really only here to keep shilling The Scouring now?
2. Your message history proves otherwise.
3. Your hostility towards people who criticize Stormgate here and on reddit suggests that there is indeed a lot of frustration. It's ok if you don't want to admit it yet.
4. No need to feel so insecure when other games are mentioned. There's also Tempest Rising, Battle Aces, Beyond All Reason, and many more. All of which have their own advantages. Stormgate could (and should) definitely learn from them.
