Stormgate BTFO'd by a game with mechanics two decades old LOL
Well to be fair age of mythology remake is well made and the superior RTS
One of the reason the game is in such a poor state is from counter intelligence efforts like this over the past two years have done nothing but try to discredit concerns about the games state and direction. Result? Check the player reviews for yourself. Well done?
No no, he's totally right. Of course, it's the developers who decide, but it doesn't help when you always have the same crowd of fan boys denying any criticism.
It's like a guy going "are we there yet?" every 15 secs on a roadtrip.
I didn't think this'd need to be spelled out but there you go.
As I said, clueless.
A lot of the same criticisms have been going on since closed beta such as art and pathfinding.
The patch notes say the dog meta is not changing. I've seen footage of it, it looks awful. How can a scout unit, the one built from the earliest stage of the game from the command centre become the mass combat unit as well? It's so stupid.
Bro the Mechanics are perfect. It's not the mechanics at all. Mechanics are entirely what an RTS is. Without the mechanical aspect it wouldn't be an RTS game, it would be just a strategy game. In fact the mechanics are too easy. The real problem is balance and blandness. The game is so bland and buggy, laggy, no hotkey changes, etc.
Same exact thing goes for users trying to use Age of Mythology or other released game as a basis for comparison of an unreleased game. That's like saying Nasa Artemis is bad because it can't get off the ground and Shuttle Atlantis can. It's not even logical.
Same goes for any mention of user activity for an unreleased game. Tell that to Baldur's Gate 3, two years before release when their Early Access user base was infinitesimal compared to the activity on this game. Which can be described as one thing and one thing only - completely logically irrelevant.
Does any irrelevant/invalid question mean that Stormgate will 100% fail when it release? Which is easily over a year away if not two. Remark on the current user base during development of an unreleased game compared to a game that is not just much further along in development, but completed/released. OK and?
Maybe actually make a speculation about how the game will perform and be received when it releases. Based on actual hands on play testing. Rather than ask completely irrelevant and invalid questions like whether or not we are "there". Go to Nasa and ask that about Artemis project as if it should launch today, and see what they.
I agree with you. Unreleased games have plenty of time to be developed and should be immune to scrutiny. Stormgate is released though, are you claiming it isn't? Frost Giant has said they consider Stormgate to be launched or "released". Anyone can play it, even for free.
