Honestly they could have tried to match SC2 visuals and it would still be better. This game doesnt utilize UE5s potential in any way.
Those eyes are hideous.
Even Overwatch still looks better.
I remember a 1 minute gameplay reveal of SG on The Game Awards reel next to Stalker 2. It made RTS look so outdated.
LOL
Exactly
It's normally unthinkable for any video game studio to produce a character like this.
Even with stylized graphics, the head is deformed ; it looks as if a piece of Amara's skull is missing.
The armor is misshapen for a woman's body.
She's simply not human, and any eye, even a baby's, can see that. It's totally the uncanny valley.
It's a total mistake. They should have used Unity URP, it would have fitted in perfectly with their graphic style, it would have cost much less in developer “manpower” (a C# developer is much cheaper than a C++ developer), it wouldn't have made any difference to the fact that they could have developed their own pathfinding engine.
And above all, it would have cost a LOT less to run the game afterwards, a potato computer could have run it...
They are clearly not using Lumen nor Nanite from UE5, and UE5 is made for that! Global illumination, and infinite polygon on screen...
No, it's totally incomprehensible, a beginner's mistake.
Stormgate's civvies are just another indication that the devs were lazy and lack attention to detail.
But jokes aside is really mind blowing to me, how they never bothered to create an attractive and memorable design for their poster character, MC of the campaign. Its either incompetence or neglect cuz "people would eat any slop anyway" and i dunno whats worse.
