I don't know what NDZ is ... but they did tell us that they want to sell the campaign chapters for 10 USD each. (Also, we do get the 3 prologue missions for free)

The game is mainly a multiplayer game with thousands of hours of content.

You also get to play it for 12 days 2 months from now. What a bargain!

The ultimate pack is about $60 USD which used to get you 30 missions for a full Blizzard campaign. Now it gives you 9 missions. We have gone backwards. They throw in coop commanders and some cosmetics but I mainly would be checking out the single player.
I have been following this for years and the hype they brought back for RTS is good. The closer this gets to EA launch though it just seems like they are more concerned about investers and money and the fact they are "ex Blizzard". They have yet to even release their first game and think it will be the next sliced bread.
There is plenty of skepticism about the art as well including from most SC1 and SC2 players. If your main fanbase says it looks bad that's a bad sign.

The truth is that the price for 3 mission packs is £51. Which is a tragic price. The starcraft 2 nova mission pack cost £15 and we got 9 missions and these missions were really well done. Much better than the main LOTV campaign... It doesn't change the fact that £51 for 9 missions is a joke... Even if I wanted to buy 3 packages, I would still pay £45, not £51... Let me just remind you that you got a lot money from Kickstarter and making such an amount is already greedy on your part. Recently, I also drew your attention to the lack of Polish subtitles. I won't buy packages at this price to guess what the campaign is about. So for me, your decision to make a mission pack for £51 for 9 missions because I doubt there will be more of them is an abstraction.

Now let's go further. We have 3 factions. The Terran campaign will be the first. So to learn the story I will have to spend £156 for 27 missions. Let's go further and say that there will be more episodes, like in StarCraft 1, then there will be 56 missions for which you will have to pay 312 pounds... These are abstract prices, people. The Nova pack cost £15 for 9 missions and that was a very fair price. And now you raise the price times 3 over. A good question is whether the missions will also be of really good quality. Because if we are to get repeatable missions like in LOTV where we only have to destroy the mission to complete it, it will be a joke. WOL had the best campaign from StarCraft 2. I remember this game. I paid PLN 130 then, which is £25 today. Then I got 27 missions + very good and varied missions. There was something new.

I understand that the game will be free, but the package prices are a joke. If you gave £20, it would still be ok for 9 missions, but not £51. My friend, it's good that you noticed this, because you are going the wrong way of the old Blizzard. You shouldn't do that as a new studio + there are many languages and Blizzard provided a lot of dubbing, so yeah. I'm really rooting for you, but you're making old Blizzard mistakes...

For now, the cost for 3 missions is 22 pounds, not 10 as they told you

Well, the thing is ... we currently can't just buy one campaign chapter. All we can purchase is a bundle that contains a Coop Commander, one campaign chapter and a cosmetic. And we do not yet know how they want to price the Coop Commanders and cosmetics.

Where are you guys getting this "3 mission" idea?

It says "3 campaigns". lol There's no way I'm going to believe they will only have 3 missions per campaign.

They said that every campaign chapter will have at least 3 missions. So with 3 chapters for the vanguard campaign it should have at least 9 missions.

OK so OP is talking about the Deluxe edition then. $40 US for 1 campaign and 3 co-op heroes basically, totaling around 9 missions.

For $60 US, you get the Ultimate edition:
- all 3 campaigns (should be 27+ missions then)
- co-op heroes

Back in 2010, Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty launched for $60:
- no co-op
- Terran Campaign which had 26 missions in a single playthrough, 3 alternate missions based on choices made in the campaign.

Seems like we are getting more content than Wings of Liberty for the same price.

Not quite. The Vanguard campaign only consists of 3 chapters, and those 3 are in the ultimate edition, and no other campaign chapters are in it, so it does indeed look more like a single 10 mission campaign right now. (Though I guess I personally wouldn't have any issue with having less but longer missions, since I always thought that the SC2 maps were all a bit small ... but I guess that mostly comes from me being a very big Empire Earth fan with its stupidly huge maps, and it's not like we have any idea about the actual campaign mission sizes so far)

But for now it certainly does look like at least mission count wise we will get than what SC2 offered. Also, it's not 'all 3 campaigns', due to their game as a service model there isn't really any upper limit on the number of campaigns.

Costs 40 nzd and has this in the description.
Vanguard Campaign - Chapter 1 Missions
These three missions take place following the free prologue and are your ticket to learning more about Stormgate's universe from the perspective of the Human Vanguard. These missions are playable solo and, in the future, will be playable cooperatively as well. Please note: all Campaign missions will continue to be updated during Early Access.

The way I read this is the purchase includes vanguard campaign chapter one(and only chapter 1) which is only 3 missions long and they may be updated in the future. Thus if you are buying the game with single player in mind, you are buying 3 missions.

Edit: can someone please quote where the campaigns are supposed to be longer or that more will be added to these packages? The purchase pages don't state either of those things.

Edit 2, OH the official website spells it out.
https://playstormgate.com/prepurchase

Early access basic and deluxe packs get you only 3 missions. You have to buy the entire ultimate pack to get the full campaign of 9 missions. This game has now been added to ignore list.

Edit3: yep, you spend $60 for 1 campaign of 3 chapters, each with 3 missions(as a minimum). So you are getting about 1/3 the missions of WOL as your minimum mission count with no guarantee of any more.

Yeah, if you don't care about the Coop mode it's better to not preorder the bundles and instead directly buy the 3 campaign chapters once you can buy them directly.

I feel they really screwed up with the packages. Having an "early access" package with upgrades for "campaign", "coop" and "cosmetics" would really have been a better option. Bundling it all together like this basically inflates the cost for the end user with stuff they don't want. Sort of like cable packages.
As I stated in my post, I put this game on my ignore list on steam. If they are willing to stoop to bundling stuff together like this, then future monetization will probably be much worse.

This appears to be the case (9 missions total) as the Ultimate pack adds:

Vanguard Campaign - Chapter 2 & 3 Missions
Take your campaign experience even further with all three chapters of Human Vanguard missions! Featuring three (or more) missions per chapter, these missions will be playable solo when they are released, with co-op support added in the future. As with Chapter 1, Frost Giant Studios intends to update and polish each Campaign mission throughout the Early Access period.

In a lame attempt at damage control, I'm going to point to price inflation from 2010 to 2024:

$60 in 2010 for SC2 Wings of Liberty = ~$83 in 2024 LOL!!

Also, Terran in the original Starcraft had a 10 mission campaign. So 9 missions is a good number for a single faction.

Of course, we got all 3 campaigns (Terran, Protoss, Zerg) for buying Starcraft. Again, I could make a lame point that the cost of the original Starcraft in 1998 would basically be double in 2024.

Now if they come out and say that Ultimate pack buyers will also get the next two campaigns, then we are talking serious value.
