Keep in mind that the devs have put a lot of emphasis on the map editor. That kind of freedom leads to things like DOTA. It has a lot of potential.
This is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like Stormgate as is, but I appreciate the work the devs are putting into player freedom.
Thanks for the recommendation, gonna check that one out!
-Global Conflagration
-Beyond All Reason (not on Steam, though)
-Tempest Rising
Tempest Rising already is on my list, but I've read that Slipgate Ironworks is somehow involved in this project which is not a good sign imo.
I've enjoyed the Coop mechanics (heroes) and how they adjust the mechanics of the given faction. I have, however, found the private 1v1 options to be bland without the heroes. Presntly I'll not be bothering with the official 1v1 or similar PvP without the heroes because it's too much SC2 vs. WC3 so to speak. Star Craft was fine, Warcraft was also fine but I prefer the latter by far due to the hero mechanics and additional asymmetry.
