It's the SC2.5 i wanted (mostly because i like Protoss gameplay)
There are only 2 races, which closely resemble Terran and Zerg. The issue is, it's a game released in 2024, yet the graphics (at least to me) are way worse than SC2. I just don't see a reason to play Stormgate instead of SC2.
The only reason would be if by chance the game picks up and starts to be played seriously, with enough people for the ladder to be relatively balanced. Otherwise, the game will simply die out because it doesn't offer anything new or different. Plus, graphically, it's even worse than SC2, which is 14 years old...
Agreed 100%.
There is a third faction which is yet to be revealed. Their Kickstarter campaign was funded in 15 minutes lol. This game is going to do just fine. Besides, this is an early beta build, so there will be improvements.
It's interesting to me. There's a big gap between 'esports' and hard-core amateurs. I think the mothership's black hole ability was perfectly fine for esports, but it was frustrating for the amatuers who play 50+ hours per month.
then play real time tactics games or grand strategy.
